I just got a call from a buddy, he got his hands on a computer chip for a 2001 TL, he has an 02, so it wont fit his and he said he'll give it to me for free. I cant really find any info on it, and he only knew very little, I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions......he said it was about $500 retail and is 6x6inches....can i install this myself or is it better takin it to the dealer? also, anyone know how much HP i can gain, and how much gas miliage is lost?

 

No name of it? Is it the Unichip? Probably going to need more information.

 

when you get your hands on the chip tell us what it is(i.e. brand). chips for ours cars are not known to give much of a gain if any though.

He's either a liar or an idiot. If it will fit the 01 TL, it will fit the 02 TL. Also, what does he mean by "fit?" The harness? If it's the Unichip, the wiring harness will fit all 2nd Gen years.

 

Yea, I really dont know any details other than what he told me over the phone, I was hopin to get some on here. I'm home for Thanksgiving right now and will be picking it up when I get back down to school....I'll let you guys know more about whatever it is when I get it...hopefully someone can help me out w/ sum more info then.

 

ya i don't know what type of chip it might be. I have the unichip on my 2003tls, I'm very happy with the my performance gains. i'm really curious what your chip might be?
