Just installed AEM short ram intake!

Wow this this is amazing! It makes my 1999 acura tl-p sound like a muscle car. Once you get over 3 thousand rpms it roars. Im sure i'll know a little differents in gas and hp. Just wanted to say its amazing and beautiful well worth 150.00.

That's kinda what I figured. I did the same thing to my 98 Prelude before I got the TL. It would do the same thing and the gas gauge didn't work at all. I ended up getting a whole new cluster for it off eBay when I gave it back to my brother.

Yea, that's what they all sound like with intake. The stock intake and resonators that are attached are quiet, so it really makes a difference when you take all of those out and put in a straight pipe instead.

CAI is longer than the SRI and goes behind the bumper to suck in colder air as opposed to the hot engine bay air that the SRI takes in.

It is, you can see the top of it in your picture. Do a search for resonator and you'll find threads on how to remove it. You may have to remove the bumper to get it off, it's a lot easier that way.

It will just allow more air to get into the engine bay and into the filter. The resonator blocks up that hole and doesn't let as much air get in. The resonator was only there for one reason -- to quiet the stock air intake. It's not hooked up to the stock intake anymore, so it doesn't need to be there. Also will get rid of some weight.

^ yes thats correct. This can be removed without taking off your bumper.

Removing the bumper can be a son of a bitch, and if you can avoid it, please do.
You can access this resonator by removing the fender trim behind the wheel, on the driver side of course. Removing the wheel will make things even that much easier.

Now if you feel adventurous and wanna take your bumper off for practice, by all means do. Theres nothing like seeing your car without a face.

On the 99, it's actually almost impossible to get to the front bolt without taking off the bumper. It's way in the front and I couldn't get to it for the life of me and had to end up removing the bumper. Just a heads up. By all means, if you can get it off without taking off the bumper, then do it but it is pretty damn hard to do

Haha well if i cant get to it without taking off the bumber then im not going to do it. Will it make the car louder/make more air flow or what is it really worth it? All I know is that its a silencer but mu car is loud right now....

It was a silencer for the stock intake. It will not make the SRI any louder by removing it, but will allow for greater air flow and take some weight off the already heavy TL .

The TL-P its much easier to remove the bumper to get the resonator out. Actually removing the bumper is faster than dinking with trying to remove it with it on.

Taking the bumper off is a 5 min job and very easy to do. A few clips 2 screws and 2 bolts and it slides right off.

You can't really get any quieter than the icebox besides keeping the stock intake. It will be pretty quiet unless she is going around racing people like you might be.

the icebox isnt loud. It looks just like the stock intake. None of the intakes are loud normal driving. Its when you are WOT and in vtec that they become loud.

Take a look at the two lines that go into the baby radiator on the bottom of your intake. Remove one of them and plug the end of the one still plugged in to the place you just disconnected from on motor... if that makes sense. So instead of one hose going to the intake and another one coming back you will just have one that plugs into two places on the motor.
