This may sound dumb but here goes... I got the JDM A-Spec wing sitting at home waiting to be installed but. I was told by the guy that sold it to me that the running lights on the wing itself light up green. I'm not sure how to verify since it's not installed. And if it IS green then how do I replace those green lights. I don't wanna tear up this hot expensive ass wing.

 

Yes it light up green, but i don't know anytime about replacing them light.

 

So now I know I gotta take that out. I know I can't be driving around with green lights on the back of the car. Thing is...how to get them out...

I would suggest for you not to hook up the wires. Then the lights wont work right?

 

I kinda like the space ship lights. So I'd like to have them on and in red. I think it would look good once it's done. Just trying to find the right way of going about it.

 

Songoku has the wing and changed his lights. I dont know if he did a diy or not but check out the link. He shows changing them

Looking at Songoku's pics, you should be able to bake the lights and swap out the color - just like how you bake headlights to clear em. Looks like they come with green LEDs mounted onto a circuit board, and Songoku swapped em for a168/194 holder and amber bulb.

 

I think, you should probably just sell me the wing! lol

 

Looking at it it looks like al he did was pull out the green leds and replace it with a single orange bulb

 

Or you can just desolder the green lights and resolder them with red leds so it then looks like the aspec wing!... Thats what i did. You can check out the pics, and i have descriptions of what i did along with each pic in my photogallery. Its pretty easy, hardest thing is cutting through the plastic. Easiest way to see if they light up green is to find an old computer powersupply and just hook up the 12volt and ground wires to one of the lights

there use to be a thread in the sponsers section. If i remember right it was around 850 shipped and a 6 month wait. Also it is the JDM version with the rear view camera so the lights will be green, where as the aspec has red lights and no rear view camera. I think the rear view camera can only be hooked up to the japanesse version of the navi or i think u can tap the wires and send a composite video signal to any video in reciever you have.

 

Do you know if anyone can get the A-spec instead of the Inspire JDM spoiler? I could care less about the camera, but if people are still being able to get their hands on that spoiler then someone should be able to get a hold of the A-spec one too.

 

Give teh money to a member with a A-Spec and have him go to teh deaelr and get a new one

even if you give a cdn member who has a an aspec money to buy the spoiler, some dealerships r stiff about even selling it only if yours is currently damaged, al though some peeps know peeps on the inside in which they can bypass all that...


tehehe you suckers, i got all my a spec parts for roughly 2k cdn.

 

i was going to get an aspec wing though a canadian member on the forum, i think the dealer price was 1100 Canadian which is ~935 American. But before i went through with that i was able to get my hands on a jdm spoiler w/o camera from another member on the forum. There are 2 versions of the JDM spoiler, one with and one without the camera but i think mrheeltoe was only able to get the one with the camera. But the post in the sponsors section seemed to have disappeared.

 

I got mine on Ebay used from this guy that sells directly from Japan. I got it for 600 shipped. Just kind of ran into it. I really wasn't looking for it.

His name was keithtau and his store name is the RPM garage. But he only had that one. It was on there once before and I tried to buy and he sold. Reason I found it again was the guy that had one the auction didn't end up paying him. So I got iT!

 

i saw that auction and was tempted to buy it but i already had mine, since the price was low for that spoiler, but i got the jdm inspire side markers from the same guy off the same car. Good seller and fast shipping from hongkong too

Yeah I've bought a couple of things from him for my Integra. He's a good guy. You're right he does ship fast as hell too.

So you think If I called up a Canada acura dealership, and told them I had one of those wings... told them it was stolen, and that i need a new one... you think they would go for that? any idea how much they charge US?

 

Thanks for the info!!! That guy has a lot of JDM parts on his store page. He's got 2 98 Inspire spoilers on there now, but not the 02-03. I'll just keep checking back on his store. Looks like he has reasonable prices too! Thanks Again!

2. u need a CANADIAN vin number
3. once they know ur calling LD from the US, they will hang up, its a part exclusive for canadian tl-s a spec owners, thats why they wont give it out to no bodies.
