the main 1s ppl use on here r: comptech, apex'i wsII, magnaflows(myself)

i think im missing 1 or 2...but those r the common 1s....all custom cat-bak...with 2.5inch piping...i was leaning towards comptech...but i got turned to the darkside n went with magnaflows...i xtremely love the way my car sounds...but remember...its how the pipes r bent n the workmenship...

o yea remember 1 thing...most vids ppl make r of them gunning it n hitting vtec...n the cold air intake drones out the xhaust...i hope u dont get confused...

o yea...some ppl have resonator setups...some dont(myself)...having 1 or not changes the sound dramatically...

I have the AEM V2, but it's only availible for the TL-p. I don't know what Strodda has, but they aren't that different sounding at all.

 

AV6 Magnaflow cat back, you can ask PIZauL he has the same set up too.

 

my magnaflow custom catback sounds awesome. I love it, but I don't have the equipment to do a video right now. I will soon though.

those evos and RT cat sound a little ricy and high pitched to me. I like the deeper v8 like rumble myself. nice looking exhaust though and good mod list.

 

I agree with sbuswell, i don't want a high pitch sound, just a deep smoooooth sound.

 

My greddys use to be very mellow and i use to love them. A few weeks ago my factory cat starting rattling and the dealership said i need a new cat since the honey comb inside of the old one has gone loose. I got qouted $1500 or so for a cat with labor and no way in hell i was spending that much money on just a cat. So ended up buying one from random tech which was direct bold on and was 49 state legal. While the cat was being installed i had the guy put the headers on as well since my comptechs were collecting dust since the day bought them.

 

im not using a real intake. i took off the stock box, added a 3" elbow and put on a k&n filter. and that video is taken with stock headers and cat.

 

i agree... not sure if its the cat or exhaust, but it sounds like a lil 4banger civic.

 

stRodda do you have the whole tanabe catback kit or just the mufflers?

 

its the full catback. the reason you can see much in the vid is cause i masked off the tips and painted everything else flat black.

 

Love this exhaust. Many people think its the comptech exhaust, since it looks almost the same. Here is a sound clip of me revving them a bit. Im gonna make a drive by vid soon.

damn guys, you're making it hard for me...tanabe, Apexi or magnaflow??? I like magnaflow cause i use to have it on my 5.0 and it sounded sick!!! But i want to make sure it sounds good on a v6 also. I don't want a loud sound, just a nice deep smooth sound...

 

anybody got a clip with apexi? i still haven't heard them...

I had the v2 on my 99, and loved it and i have had my xsp headers lying around for weeks.
