Intake resonator - quick questions

Intake resonator - quick questions
Hi everybody, i am not much of a performance enthusiast, all i know is that i want my car to go faster and sound a little more aggressive. People tell me to get th intake resonator out, what is this and where is it located? Can the car function well without its presence or does something have to replace it??
I would also appreciate other performance mod tips. Please list them with how much each mod will cost(rough estimate) along with the right manufacturer to get it from. Also whether each is pretty simple to install by myself, without much knowledge of the underhood. Please do help as much as possible.

this is the resonator removal DIY

the car will function just fine with out it.
s for other mods do a search. and read what others have done and what they recomend. Most do the Intake, Headers, exhaust and pulley. most every thing is a DIY if youhave hand tools
