Icebox vs. CAI?

Icebox vs. CAI?
Just put in a K&N filter in the stock air filter housing (in my '00). Realize now I should've just gone ahead with a CAI! But, since I've already got it in I was thinking about getting an icebox. Don't know much about them.
Easy to put in?
Rough price?
Any info you folks wanna throw my way would be appreciated!

First off, the Comptech Icebox is a Cold Air Intake (CAI). I highly recommend getting the CT Icebox. I have one, and I really like it. Sounds great at WOT, has decent HP gains, and I get that cool hiss when I turn the ignition off.
It's CARB exempt too. Don't know if that's important to you, and don't know if other CAIs are CARB exempt. If you do get one, replace the foam filter CT gives you with a K&N filter. You probably already know the K&N is reusable, and it's said that they flow and filter better than paper and foam filters.

I had no idea that better MPG would also be the result. Is this true?

Also, anything that improves your engine's ability to breathe will yield some improvement in mileage

One more quick question:
Can I use the stock K&N filter with a CT Ice Box, or do I need another one?
I'd hate to have to spend more $ on another K&N with a brand new one already installed. I know I'm sounding cheap here!!!

I also have the CT Icebox and love it. The mpg improvement is relative thing. If you like the throaty sound, then your mpg will be lower since you will be gunning the gas pedal more often.

I have the AEM cai, and im happy as hell! The intake is loud it screams when u want it to and it growls at like 2.5k rpms. It is not obnoxious and i felt a nice power boost. About cleaning it, you should rotate your tires every 12k miles, so when u do that and u have the tire off, just go ahead and get to the intake. Clean it every 12k miles and u will be fine. i would go with the AEM... i got mine for like 229.

Just installed my Icebox today, took about 2 hrs. No noticeable sound difference from stock, which is what I was looking for. The instructions were a little incomplete in step 2, it tells you to remove 4 snap clips along grill top - you actually have to remove ALL upper snap clips, remove the plastic shroud to grant you access to the 2 snap clips holding the grill in place (under the top plastic shroud).
Other than that, removing/installing the front bumper cover was much easier than I thought and the radio code that everyone wrote about and had me worried about took on the first try.
All in all, a nice fit that looks like a stock installation...
