Hypothetical questions about creating an original lip kit.
Ever since I installed the ATLP catback, the look of my car has been bugging me.
... and I don't like the oem rear lip, or the wingswest rear lip enough to put it on. This is just hypothetical, but I was thinking of a different look for the rear. I was reading around the internet and came up with methods such as using a CAD program and getting the design milled. I also looked at the RonJon site and saw pictures of the 8gen accord coupe lip kit in the making.
If anyone has experience or knowledge in this, it would be really helpful... I'm thinking of getting a CAD because I may be majoring in Architectural Studies and want to try designing a lip kit, even if it doesn't become reality. I know making custom lip kits are expensive and non-efficient, but I just want to see what the TL can look like...

Pretty much the OEM rear and WW rear lips are perfect but I chose the WW to be different plus its lower than the OEM Rear, I know they have a SKP rearlip, but its much rounder and looks as if its molded, but bottom line their really isnt much you do besides that splitter idea or hey try a body kit j/k j/k........its pretty much the same with our fronts also.....OEM front, WingsWest Front, that SKP is custom so good luck with that...... but hey give it a shot, cause you never know what you could possibly come up with......

eh hockeyman's kit is ricey imo, no offense i was thinking of a lip that goes up more like the ronjon 2g cl rear lip so it doesn't have the dip at the bottom of the bumper, but more aggressive to flow with the oem sides and front. i was thinking of the w220 s class amg rear kit as the sort of aggressive feel, but not like a sports car. i dunno about the rear diffuser... kinda seems ricey unless it's really subtle.

CAD programs are actually pretty easy to design stuff with if you use the right one. I've taught myself everything I know with Autodesk Inventor and I can pretty much make anything... I say go for it, I'm using Inventor to try to make a bezel so that I can put 3rd generation gauges into my 02 TL-S.

And I was referring to engineering programs (still undergrad), little CAD taught. But if you're focus is on design, I guess they'll teach you more
I too am loving the diffuser. It just looks kinda big (half the bumper) and not like part of a lip

Thanks for the comments, guys. I haven't gotten any professional instruction for programs like photoshop and illustrator, so im hoping i get better if/when i transfer next year to do architectural studies (design) and use 3D modeling programs.
the lip does look a little fat, but i was aiming for a beefier style than the oem and wingswest. i might've overdone it
and i was thinking if the sides of the rear lip would look better like the ua7 type-s a-spec rear lip sides

But back to topic-I think you may be on to something coming up with a different lip style. Keep polishing it, looking pretty good.
