Add Thermoblock spacers to above list and then fudge the dyno numbers on a cold day with fresh synthetic oil.
The crank pully should be the lightweight underdrive style

Just for fun read the thread Seafoamed the ol TL and run a few cans thru your car.
Clean engine internals make more power

then you can pray... because you don't just add 12 hp from headers to 7 hp from the intake and get a total increase of 19 hp. (the numbers I used were random numbers not the real hp made from the mods)

Let's see, 40-50hp without NOS or forced induction ....... Sell the TL and buy a car of your choice with 40-50hp more than the TL.

^werd..

I ended up gaining only about 25whp from I/H/E/P. (TL-p 168.75whp stock according to 25% drivetrain loss, I dyno'd 194.3whp)

you could probably do it through alot of internal building
but honestly if you want that much more power youre gonna have to do fi or nitrous

or hell just sell the ac and buy a faster car

wieght reduction. i pulled a lot of unesisary shit from my car, if anything it made it peppier. i took out about 100lbs. but that reduction goes down the shitter as soon as another person sits in the car. also lightwieght rims and underdrive pully. possibly light weight rotors

On that note, why not try hydrogen - lighter, but slightly combustible (AKA Hindenburg).

Random Technology High Flow Cat - add that to the list. The stock cat is very restrictive.

Sorry to disappoint you. There is absolutely no chance to gain 40-50 Hp without NOS, Turbo or SC with the existing technology for your TL.

To the wheels no it is not possible without F/I or N2O or some sort of internals, but to the crank I think 40-50 is possible. If you figure the following crank/flywheel hp you should get that #. Take away about 23-25% for the A/T:

AEM/Injen Cold Air Intake 8 hp
Comptech/DC Sports Headers 22 hp
Random Tech High Flow Cat 8 hp
Catback Exhaust 5 hp
Unorthodox Racing Crank Pulley 7 hp

I think you could get 35whp with I/H/E/P/Cat and maybe some tuning. Keep in mind too a lot of ppl haven't tried replacing their cats. That stock cat is pretty restrictive. The RT cat is 300 cell. The stock one is probably 700-800 cell.

I would get a high flow cat, but I gotta hear a vid or something before I make a purchase. Someone here said they were gonna make a vid, but never did.

OK man, I have a question. What is random tech high flow cat??? is it something specific? Same ? for the exhaust.

RT cat's are well known around here, but not many members have installed them. I will be one that does sooner or later as my cat has 147k and counting and RT cat is about 300 or less. exhaust gains seem a little high though, I would guess 2-3HP, but you never know until you dyno your car.

not gonna happen, with the lack of aftermarket support for our cars there is no way to 40-50 whp on a N/A motor. if it were an integra then mayaby but not the TL

thats what i was trying to say, you would have to either stroke or increase your displacement either way. one question i have can you put some RL CAMS in the tls type s to make more torque/HP?

Keep your tl for show and buy a 1st gen eclipse/talon for all your racing needs. I did, I love driving my eclipse hard then enjoying the luxury of my tl.
