How many miles on a full tank???
I was just curious to know how many miles on a full tank you guys getting in a city driving???. I hit 255 on a full tank. I got 02 Type S with 79,000 miles with modifications listed. Please list your year and miles with it...

This has been talked about a bit if i remember right, just gotta seach it up.
I can get over 400 on a full tank doing mosty highway driving, 300 if mostly city.
All that with my over-aggressive driving habits as well. 00' with 180,XXX miles, never had any work like a valve adjustment done or had the heads off. I've got HELLACIOUS carbon buildup on my pistons as well according to my compression test (155-205psi). My only mod is basically XS headers and removed intake resonator w/ K&N filter that i never clean.
Try seafoaming your engine (search) and doing a forced fuel-trim relearn. It WILL help.

I used to get 400+ on mostly highway and now only get between 350-380 with mostly highway so I definitely have experienced some loss in efficiency. when I had a 3 mile commute to school/work I used to get between 220-250 but I drive aggressively, meaning I will let the rpms get up high usually when casually driving around.

seafoam the gas and intake manifold to increase mileage and performance
Consider replacing the spark plugs- city miles are `severe service` in the maitenance schedule
Drive like there is an egg under the gas pedal~

Dang, I think I need to Seafoam. I don't think I have ever gotten over 400.
In the Summer, I can get 380 65% Highway, 35% City. Now, in Winter I can't even get in 300's. But, I do drive aggressively. Most of my highway driving is 75-80 mph. I love to hear VTEC now that the intake resonator is off.
Alignment and Seafoam engine should improve it a bit.

My normal commute, which is 20% City and 80% Highway, i usually get between 340 and 360 and that is with a little more than 2 gallons left in the reserve... I drive about 70 to 80mph on the highway, but chill in traffic and in the city... slow starts from lights, etc. Something about the highway that turns my foot into lead...
Driving on long trips (i.e to Dallas, New Orleans, etc), I can get over 400 miles easy...

I went on a small road trip today to my Acura dealership which is about an 1 1/2 hour away. I filled up before I left and tank held like 14.2 gallons. Assuming the tank is equal proportions, when the fuel needle hit half mark I had traveled 215 miles. Half of 14.2 is 7.1. So, I used 7.1 Gallons to go 215 Miles. Dividing it up, thats 30.28 mpg.
Driving Conditions:
The fuel needle didn't drop to half until I was on my way back home on the highway. On the way to the dealership there is 45% Highway, 30% Hills, 25% City.
---On the highway I drove 70-75 with the cruise control on. I also passed 3 Semi's, gas pedal all the way down all three times. Highest Recorded Speed was 93 while passing.
---During the hills, I maintained a constant 65mph until briefly slowing down to 45-55 for 3 small towns. I also drove without the cruise control during the hills.
---City driving killed my mileage a bit. I didn't really know where I was going, so manuevers required more gas than necessary to get across lanes to exits, went down a wrong road 2 times, quick entry onto interstates, etc.
Mileage wasn't that bad considering it is Winter, but I didn't have the A/C on either. I was surprised it came out above 27mpg. If I made a mistake anywhere, feel free to chime in, as I am very tired.

To get the best mpg possible on a flat surface and no wind, what would be the ideal speed to cruise for the whole time?
i am guessing between 50 mph and 60 mph, but i really dont know for sure. any numbers? thnx

I would think around 48-50....since you would be in 5th gear and at the lowest rpm for that gear. Just a guess.

i got 01 TL 113k miles, stock everything except K&N which I clean about maybe every 2 oil changes. I get approx 350 every time at least, thats usually before the light comes on, everybody sounds right. It all depends where you drive, drive mainly on highways, about 70%. going at least 75-80. Only Razzi seems odd, 250 if he's lucky on 70% highway, should be 350 no prob. Maybe check the air filter, oil change? I switched to synthetic about 15k miles ago at 90k. also strictly use ultra from sunoco. hope this helps
