HD lip:
it was way too sunny for my cell phone camera to handle that day. sorry i dont have a dig cam.
say what you want about it. i think it looks different, not necessarily the coolest looking thing ever. but its def not rice. what constitutes it as rice? because its cheap? well eff you i dont have a job right now cus im a student and im looking for cheap mods all the time.
people cant tell its foam and rubber at first, since i used some tire shine on it (not in picture). its surprisingly sturdy. so far, ive taken it up to 100mph and through a car wash and nothing phased it. i used 3m automotive tape. grill was done with Plasti-dip temporary "paint." i will be color matching it eventually when i get money.

People have various ways of attatching it, I'll give credit 03tlsNBP did a good job on mounting his. Hey, modding cars isn't cheap and we've all been there trying to do a cheap mod or two. If done tastefully then great, but patience goes a long way when doing up a car.. at any rate, we should agree that built, not bought is the way to go and mod it to your liking!
Thanks! i bought my TL with an extremely limited budget for modding. im just making the most of what i can spend. i did little things like intake resonator removal, mid-muffler removal, 3A tips, stuff like that. very low cost. and i did my LED interior lighting (map, door, shift gate, trunk, dome, footwell) for free, thanks to my engineering buddy.
IMO the hd lip only looks acceptable on cars without the OEM/WW lip. i think its cus the hd lip is flared out a little and the OEM/WW is already flared out. so i guess OEM/WW + HD just looks kinda weird with its double-flared bottom? whereas the stock bumper kinda curves in and is not flared out at all. so the hd lip gives the stock bumper a better look. hopefully someone gets what im saying.
basically what im saying, either go with stock + HD, or OEM lip with no HD.

^hmm somebody should try that!
also famous is the home depot grille (made with gutter guard).
i think some people are missing the point of these kinds of mods. they are a clever use of different materials. it just makes your car more unique i guess. these mods are for the people who cant afford a $900 OEM kit or $750 coilovers or $1400 rims and tires, but still want to do something different to their cars (while saving up for the real thing of course).
yeah the home depot lip isnt cool when compared to an OEM lip, but when compared to nothing, or a ridiculous body kit you see on those uncool fartcan civics, it looks more appealing.
and by the way, ive gotten a bunch of compliments on my lip so...i dunno what to make of that lol. of course those people dont have amazing cars like the TLs you see on azine. they were normal people with okay cars so their standards werent through the roof.

Congrats an the recent purchase of a fine automobile! You bought a car that is damn sexxy when it drove off the show room floor. Why take it down a notch? Now you have to save even more to get the lip you accually want. Don't waste time and money on that crap. When's the last time you saw an M3 with parts from home depot. To each man his own. Something to think about. If you get bored clean something.

Regardless of what type of mod you're doing, there's always a right way and a wrong way. If you do, please do it the right way.. (don't get me wrong..I have seen some decent HD lips around!)
The WW one doesn't look too bad, I want to see how it would look on a OEM kit since the 3Gs can pull it off, why not a 2G? heh..
