HID question

I wanted to increase the strength of my headlights. Wasn't sure what options there are. The 6000k hids look nice, but do you need to get new ballasts, conversion kids, or anything else? I was looking at a philips one for sale on the black market and someone said that no ballasts are needed. However for the kaixen 6000k being sold on the group buy, they are selling the bulbs with the kaixen hid kit.
Are there any other options out there which provide higher strength, or is this the best bang for the buck?
I couldnt' find a diy for it as well, and I how hard it was to install? Need to remove the bumper?

Also what is there to check for a used intake? And how often/difficult is it to replace the filter.

You cant increase the strength of our headlights. 4300k is the brightest. The higher in K you go the less useable light you get. They will look more blue and eventually purple the higher in k you go. No balast change is necessary.

as for the intake, id make sure it has all teh parts. If its a K&N filter you just get a filter cleaning kit.

you can find plenty of threads about changing headlight. I did it for myself too.
It took me a couple hours to figure it out but once I figured it out, it was easy to change on the other side headlight.
No you don't have to take off the bumper.
1. You just have to take that black plastic thing off (there is a safety screw that you have to take off)
2. twist the black cap thing off
3. unclip the metal looking thing by pushing in on the bottom part and slide it to side.
4. the light will come off automatically.

make sure don't touch the new HID's glass part. cuz the oil on your finger can cause the glass breaks.

hope this helped you.

They don't get brighter? https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=philips were the ones that I was looking at, and they look a lot brighter than the ones that I happen to have. So do the kaixen https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/kaixen-hid-kit-groupbuy-330409/

Technically the OEM HID's are the brightest. However, to the naked eye the 6000K (Extreme White) look the brightest. 6500K will emit similar light. However, you might notice a slight decrease in light output with the 8500K.

Nope they dont. They may look brighter in pictures but they arent. The actual "useable" light goes down with the higher K
