So i am curious. When you buy headlights that are like 6000k or 8000k or whatever are they way brighter? What is the rating on our stock lights? anyway thanks.

4300k is stock. 6000k is extreme white w/ a little bit of blue. It will be brighter to the naked eye than the stock bulb b/c of its color, but technically it isn't brighter. The higher the kelvin (color) the less lumen (light output).

Stay with 4300K. If that's not bright enough for you on your reflector setup, go with a retrofit using 4300k bulbs and it'll blow any 6000k or 8000k setup any day.

here's a comparison between a PNP kit and a retro fit. I think it's at least 7000K, somewhere around there. tell me which is better?
Before Retro w/PNP

After w/Retroed S2K projectors

and this is my car.. show me a 6000K and up that's brighter than my 4300K retro

Like Excelerate was saying- the higher number is about color- which effects useable visable light on the road surface
Bright white is not always the best for picking out objects on the road- as pics show
You can go 6000 if good brand- Josh has Kaixen- super whites with a tint of blue
Nice if you have poor night vision normally!

Hey sorry to hijack but umm im plannin to change the bulbs can i get some input wat will be better on a black on black acura with plannin to get black rims ?

6000K = Ultra White AKA Hyper White?
8000K = Brilliant Blue AKA Crystal Blue?
10000 = Aqua Blue?
12000 = Light Purple AKA Blue Purple?

im leaning more towards 12000 or 8000 i think all black scheme would be complemented better with more purple then blue... plz reply

My cousin had 12k on his celica...looks nice but its very tireing when you drive at night. After a while, it hurts your eyes. but it will look best on black.

I have 6k on my fogs. It has a tint of blue to it. I'd actually prefer 4300.

fogs need to be a low color -yellow to keep from bouncing light off the water droplets and into your eyes
They should be aimed to pick up the white line on the right edge of the road and the yellow line on the left.

For main beams if you get pulled over with purple bulbs expect a ticket

Stick with Phillips 4300- replacement for OE or Kaixen 6000- they use a different rating method and its comparable to a 4300
