I too have the factory fogs and the Comptech Icebox fits nicely, sounds great, and works like a charm

I'm contemplating between the AEM CAI or CT (I guess thats comptech) engineering CAI. The CT says you get 8hp and 7lbs of torque WITH their headers and exhaust, so it'll take an additional 1800 to get that much power. I'm sure they both do the same exact thing. Anyone noticed a big difference after they have installed?

i have an AEM CAI and i dont really see much difference except for the noise it makes (not soo loud) but it looks pretty sweet when you pop the hood and u do hear it at higher rpm. and i got fog lights to it still fit perfect

You could loom the wire and run it underneath. That engine bay def needs a wash

at least you put your fuse within the 12 inches.

I went with the comptech, i didnt want people knowing i had one, and i personally dont like the look of the huge pipe.

I have read great things about the injen.

wuts the whole shapeal bout the v2. yea with the sound waves an woohoo but is it worth the extra cost? does it perform any better than your icebox, aem coldair, or injen? iv heard many-o-thoughts on this but no decisive conclusions...

While seafoaming I noticed something strange...

Can someone tell me if my CAI was installed correctly? the breather hose marked in red is connected to nothing...it is floating there sucking in unfiltered air from the engine bay. the other side of the throttle body does have a hose connected to it.

PS:
Do all cold air or SR intakes on a 2nd gen TL make a similar drone sound at idle that the aem v2 makes? sorta like a metalic vacuum noise.

Thanks for the response, when i had the v2 installed..they used that orange rubber piece at the TB instead of the connector that came with the intake. I'll try to see if they still have it or order the part again...in the mean time, am I hurting my engine much by driving with that breather hose not connected to anything?

I have an Ebay CAI on my CL-S and have no complaints. It works well and sounds great. I also see better gas mileage with it.
