Headlight bulbs changes

Hey guys. I'm planning on changing my low beams to something that is brighter. I have the Hella High Performance Xenon bulbs in mind. Do I have to get a kit to use it or just swap them with the stock bulbs? Also, are the high and low beam bulbs the same?? If anyone has any suggestion for a brighter bulb can you please state it. Looking for a white beam. Thanks.

What is your current setup what year TL

I just swapped out the original HID bulbs on my 01 for some
Kaixen brand Xenon filled bulbs from vendor Excelerate (see Off Topic-Black Market for contact)
D2R or D2S (fits a few types) for our car- they run close to $150 a pair, 6000K rating output color- white with nice blue that picks up road markings, signs and the white reflective tape on semi-trucks like you wont believe
You cant buy our bulbs at the parts store. Its Ebay, a vendor here or the dealer pretty much

I bought my TL used and for some reason the high and low beam bulbs are both 9005... I want to change the four bulbs probably for Xenon ones. I don't have HID bulbs installed even though I've read that the '99 TL's have HID in them. Anyone has pics of the TL with the Hella Xenon bulbs installed?? Thanks again.

But if I be you stay with factory 4300K or 5000K.
They're both have the most light or lumens
I had 8000K on my wife accord.
Didn't like them, to blue and less lights

HID's were standard on the TL for lowbeams.

perhaps you meant you can use Xenon bulbs (for the high beams) which do not require ballasts. High beams are still used for highbeam application because of the way they function is different from the low.
