Hawk HPS Brake Pads

Question for all you Hawk Pad Owners....

When you installed the front, and especially rear pads, did you re-use the factory shims used on the OEM pads??? I re-used the ones in front, but could not use all of the ones on the rear...there are some rivets on the rear pads on the rear side of the rotor....

If someone who has installed these pads, can you please answer my question...thanks!

The HAWK HPS has its shim attached to the pad backing plate already
Simply apply some caliper grease to the contact areas on the caliper to backing plate and especially those 2 metal slider rails and the unthreaded part of the caliper bolts
Everything must move freely when done
Bed the pads in exactly as described on box and enjoy!

So, is it a bad thing to use the OEM shims on the HPS pads? I put them on (not knowing any better), and I guess I can pull them off tomorrow. Oddly enough, my HPS pads didn't come with any grease.

Can I leave the shims on, or should I take them off? BTW, these are on the fronts. Thanks.
