Fog Light Switch Mod

I have questions about the fog lights on my 03 TL:

1. If I install an HID kit to match the HID of the headlights will the heat from the bulbs melt the stock lenses?

2. WHere do I find the DIY that tells you how to setup the foglights to turn on without the headlights?

3. How much do the LEXEN lenses cost and do they stand up to a 7000K HID 9006 fog kit?

hid's produce less heat. They are only 35 watt.

The search button at the top of the page http://store.acura-tl.com/faq/faq.php#5c

you can get the lexan from home depot and make them yourself for 10-20 bucks

After I broke 2 fog lenses...damm New England winters....I went to home depot, bought a sheet of Lexan, traced the housing, cut it down...a lil sanding, shaping, epoxy and had 2 new fog covers for i think $8.00..

Knock on wood...both still survived now almost 2 years later...

For the rest...search is your friend...

I bought one lexan lens for the driver's side becuase it was cracked, from this guy on eBay, costs $18 already precut.

Yes, the lexan lens will withstand the heat HID bulbs, I have a 6000k HIDs in my Fogs and no problems as of yet.

I notice that my 3000K HID fogs still put out some heat, maybe just a bit less than my old halogen bulbs. I think because my HID bulbs are golden globes and may be coated to produce the yellow color. I think if I had non-coated HID bulbs, 4300K type, the heat would be less. I know halogen lights are very warm with the glass fog lenses, the lexan type lenses on our headlights run very cool, just barely warm. Either way, everyone is correct in saying that HID's put out less heat simply because of the reduced wattage.
