Feedback on iPod Interfaces - 2nd Gen TL

I;m finally going to put my CDs on an iPod Classic. So, I need an interface for ,y ;03 TL-S with Navi. Based upon enfig.com, there appear to be several interfaces to choose from

- BlitzSafe HON/M-Link1 DMX V.1 ($60)
- BlitzSafe HON/M-Link1 DMX V.1D ($80)
- Dice Electronics i-HONDA-R2 ($145)
- Metra AXXESS AIP-HD02-ID ($65)
- PIE_HON98_PC_POD_small.jpg ($88)
- PIE Precision Interface Electronics HON98/PC-POD2 ($130)
- USA Spec PA11-HON ($110)

An old thread also suggested the PRC852654_2 Angled Mount.

I'd like to get some feedback on which interfacce and mount to get. Pics of the mounts would be nice as well. Thanks

I have the USA Spec and its the best mod ive done on the car... you can control the ipod from the stereo or the ipod itself. Cant say much about the others but i know that the DICE is not recommended for 2G TLs

for an ipod i would look away from the bliztsafe, since you cant control the ipod on the stereo. i've heard a bunch of good things about USA spec, but since i have a Zune i dont have alot of experience with the ipod integration

What iPod functions can you control from the steering wheel?

Based upon this input as well as from other websites, I have ordered the USA Spec PA11-HON. Thanks for your input.

is it difficult to install a USA Spec PA11-HON? i'm not an idiot when it comes to these things, but just curious to know if you did it yourself or had it done. Any other input would be outstanding. THanks!

I was looking at the specs for a PA11-HON listing on eBay, and it says that it only works with 2001-2003 TLs... is there a device that will work(controls n all) with my 99?

I bought i just installed a Grom Audio iPod Adapter Digital Interface for Honda Acura #MBUSI from eBay.

It cost approximately $60 and it has the same functions as the USASpec I believe.

It took me 10 minutes to install by just removing the passenger side panel and sticking my hands into the back of the deck.

I have the usa-spec adapter installed onto my ride and it is working pretty good. The only thing I dont like about it is sometimes I cant change the track and occasionally my cd-player reads error. Nothing that cant be fixed in a couple of seconds though.

any experience with the Metra AXXESS AIP-HD02-ID?

http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s..._HD02_AIP.html

i found one on ebay and thinking about ordering that one... gonna be about $50 and i can install myself... i wanna have RCA in because i might buy a single din pop out dash and would like to just plug that into the stock radio than rewiring everything and bypassing amps..

I installed the USA Spec PA11-HON iPod interface in my '03 TL-S w/Navi - it works as advertised.

You can install the interface's plug into the back of the HU without removing the radio and console.

You need to:
1) Remove the "jan-u-wine" burl wood trim piece - no screws, just clips - start on the end closest to the center. This will let you get at the three (3) screws that hold the passenger side trim piece in.
2) Remove the screws
3) Bow the side trim piece in the lower center to get the prongs on the end to release from the console and dash.

It helps to have small hands or a 28 year old son with alot of patience (I don't have small hands nor patience).
