Exhaust question

Hey guys I had a question what sounds good to do to my exhaust I already had replacement Bosal mufflers since the OEM broke and now the bosals that were hung up by rubber hangers broke so My friend has a shop and told me he can do a little welding for me so I was wondering what suggestions to make.Remove mid muffler? Resonator?

So, is the present midpipe the "OEM" original ? Ya mentioned replacing the rear mufflers with Bosals, what broke on them ? Do ya wanna keep the car quiet ?

You actually have a couple of options to try. First, if ya have the original stock midpipe from the converter to the "Y".....ya can leave the mufflers off, then see if ya like the sound. If so, your buddy could replace the mufflers with pipes and tips.

Secondly, ya could re-install the mufflers after modifying the midpipe by deleting the mid muffler or resonator, and replacing with straight pipe. It's a matter of the quality of sound that you desire and which may be easier to fabricate.

The OEM ones were rusted so one of the mufflers broke so obviously didnt want to drive with 2 different mufflers so I bought a new set. I had them for about 1 year and the rubber part that the muffler clips on to broke off not sure what the correct term is but the muffler has a metal hook and the rubber piece connected the muffler to the hanger. So right now my mufflers are uneven. So I found out one of my friends work at a exhaust shop and I wanted to fix this but I heard stories on here people removing mid mufflers .

Those rubber "Donut" isolators which hook onto the metal hooks are easily replaced and don't cost much. If that's the only problem, "DIY" !!!

Ya I was wondering how mufflers break... I've never had one break on any car. Old or new.
