My cobra used to shoot flames out the back sometimes. Why would u want this on a tl. They are not fast enough to want to do this. No one would ever see them because anyone racing would be in front of u. Not that i dont like tls, i love mine, but its not a a sportscar or a car to really race

I know i was saying dont do it earlier but hey its his car he might want to be different from every other TL
EXACTLY! I dont mean to bitch, but everybody on here has the same exact mods, and not because of a lack of originality, simply because they dont make too much for our cars, so were all the same. And i was just trying to think outside the box. Nothing wrong with that. If its possible to do it safely, and still pass inspection, why not????? Anybody support it?

Where did you find a resonated test pipe? I never even seen a non-resonated test pipe for our cars. How much did it cost?

WHAT??!!?! Sure, they dont look like fast cars, but they are. They run 14 flats with just intakes and a drop dude. Civic's are NOT meant to be raced. Our cars are powerful. I walk on many cars man. Sure there not porsche or ferraris, but id say TL'S are fast cars. I've looked around the market at mods for our cars, and when you put them all together i think its safe to say our cars could make around 400 horspower. THAT IS A LOT

cai
comptech headers
comptech supercharger
cat backs
throttle body spacer
UR pulley
p2r power plenum

I think a tl with all that could make around 400. Actually a tl with just the comptech sc could probably pull around 320-360 i think?

well a resonated test pipe isnt the samething as a test pipe...

yea ull gain in hp but ull loose "low" end torque...which means the person with a cat will get u at launch while the person whos catless will most likely catch up or over take u in high revs...

yea i heard that bout the RT cat on tls 2day at the meet...crazy...i believe its the inlet thats the problem...mismatch

DEFINITELY WRONG...

everything there minus the plenum will give u around 318hp...i dont know if thats the crank or wheel...most likely crank...

even the with the cls 2day with the e-managment said hes only pushing 318...

ur xpecting waaaaaaay too much from our tls...

i have everything there xcept the plenum n s/c...plenum is not worth it...its not much gain at all...n s/c doesnt really add thaaaaat much...but its nice to have

you'd basically have to run pig rich then lean out the exhaust temp incredibly quick to pop flames. our engines just were not made for this. as cool as it is, it's just not in the cards for us.

That has to be at the wheel. At the crank that is way too low.

look at what i got when i dyno'd my car with the ATLP exhaust..

just imagine that with about 10-15 whp more for type-s and then another 2-4 whp for CAI

and then maybe 1 whp for test pipe.. wat would that be?

like.. 260-ish...

add a 2 foot wing and some window stickers and your bound to add a good 25-30hp as well

Just bought a resonated test pipe and had the correct flanges welded on. And you have yourself a resonated test pipe. Noone makes them for our cars.
Has to be custom

Ill find the dyno sheets but we have a few maximas and CLS' that we made test pipes for and no TQ was lost throughout the powerband. Keeping low end TQ is a matter of having the correct size piping & keep the exhaust flow smooth and quick throughout the powerband. Im not saying we made alot of power out of it but we saw about 3whp gain & no loss in TQ and a gain in TQ higher revs.

But as for the RT cat, the inlet and outlet are smaller than the ones on an OEM cat. It was made for a TLP. Everything made for a TLP wont necessarily benefit a Type S the same way.

I prefer the resonated test pipes due the raspy factor

Who made it for you, can you post a sound clip or something? And do you pass instpection or do you have to weld the cat back on it????????

my boy made it for me who has a shop here, i can post sound clips either 2nite or 2morrow morn. I passed inspection last week. Since Im not throwing a CEL I passed. Here in MD they just hook a scanner up to the ecu & if you dont have any codes you pass.

I'm going to have P2R make me another one.

i am a former 2nd gen TL owner and a Current STi owner.

Shooting flames on turbo cars actually isnt the best thing.

It's a sign your car is running rich, or dumping more fuel then it can burn.

I shoot flames when im driving in a low gear at a high RPM and shift quick and precisely.

There are a few tricks in doing it, like getting a bigger fuel pump and bigger injectors, but like i said running rich isnt what you want.

As far as spitting flames on a TL, the only way i could see happening is if you got 2step which is basically a cutout on n/a cars.

but i think that would look ridiculous on a TL. The TL is not a tuner car, but a luxury car, if anything you'd want it to sound mean only when you stomp on the gas

vent over.
