Does it drone?

I will be purchasing the Comptech Ice-box for sure. Later on I want to save up for the Comptech Headers.

My question (for people with this setup) Does it drone like an exhaust would? I will be keeping my factory exhaust because I know exhausts on automatics tend to drone A LOT more than on manual tranny cars. Plus there aren't many gains on the TL-S (from what I read on here)

I'm not looking for a race car here. But the icebox and headers do make power. But if the headers will make the car loud or drone out I don't want em. I'd be content with the icebox.

Thanks for your input in advance =)

you should look fwd to gains TLP or TLS.

As long as your headers are a clean fit onto the block, you should not experience any droning...that is until you get heavy-footed

good luck!

Sure, the exhaust could have a drone.

I did a mid-muffler (resonator) delete on my 2002 and my 2006. Both now has a drone between 2000-3000 RPM under light and meduim throttle.

I have a CAI on my 2006. No drone. Just a pleasant GROWL after 4000 RPM under heavy throttle. All other times, the CAI is not noticable from an audible aspect.

I have ICE Box and DC Sports header on my TL-S. As far as the ICE BOX, it does not introduce any "new" noise except when you shut down the engine where it makes "ssshhhh........." noise. This is normal for CAI and I like it.

As for the headers, DC Sports headers that I have give me some resonance or "drone" around 1800-1900 rpm. Other than that, they do not introduce any new noise or add any sound to the exhaust. The headers do provide more noticable power.
If you go for Comptech headers, you should not have any resonance.

Hope this helps.

The Icebox will slightly more throaty than the OEM intake. It will never be loud or intrusive. The Comptech headers will flow more exhaust and therefore there will be a slight increase in exhaust note but not much. The other brands have some wooshing noises and resonance at around 1500-2500 RPM's.

Ok, so it looks like I'll also get the Comptech headers. I don't mind the sound of the icbbox, I love that sound. It's quiet and then loud when you start climbing the RPM ladder. I think all cars should be that way.

I just didnt want an annoying hum from the headers while cruizing. I'm leaving the factory exhaust (cat-back) alone. The TL-S exhaust has proved to be a good system as is.

I have 0 noise from my headers (XS). I did notice with the stock mufflers on and no resonators there was slightly more noise while reving it but none while driving.

Thank you for your input, you are very helpful on this site and I appreciate it very much.

I'll be leaving my resonators on. Ice-box, Header and I think thats about it. Just something to spruce up my commute. lol I'm still under warranty until 2010 and my dealer has NO problems when Comptech parts are installed.

Thanks for everyones input and experience. Now I just need the damn $1100 for the headers. haha
