Yes same way, make sure that the E-brake is Not on, check the e-brake pads also when you have the rotors out. When you put the rotor back in, you might want to adjust the e-brake so it's not too loose, but not drag on too tight.

Better late than never right ? As long as the e-brake holds in D @ 2k, it will pass inspection if your state require state inspection.

so i can barely stop on the interstate during rush hour. seems like i'm just about at my limit & have to purchase new pads/rotors soon. if $ is a problem at the present time, can just the front brakes/rotors be changed then the rears at a later(not too late tho) time, or is that a no no when it comes to this shit?

also, what's the main difference between the slotted & drilled & slotted (just performance? or longevity)? obviously, i'm assuming just slotted rotors are better than blanks..

You can just replace the front brakes for now and the rear brakes later if the rear pads still have some life left.

Not to get off the brake topic, but I have tried to get my wheels clean and haven't been able to get them anything close to that clean. Did you just use elbow grease or power tools with a scrubber?

A good degreaser works very well, Many good wheel cleaners and a little soaking and elbow grease work great too!

i broke the tip on the impact driver twice. i ended up drilling them out with a crowned titanium bit dipped in motor oil. 20 seconds a screw lol.

Excellent write up with excellent PICS of your work in detail. There are other DIY on Rotors, but I liked yours much better.

This DIY was a lifesaver! I have all the pics printed and followed them step by step. I never attempted breaks before, but this made it easy. I had some issues with rust (my TL came from PA, and the snow/salt got the best of her!) but other than that, it was smooth sailing.

So, I had this thread bookmarked but I didn't read it before actually replacing my rear brakes and rotors today (had a friend to help me). The process was exactly the same and I learned a bunch! Only tricky part is getting the nuts and screws out, especially if you have rusted parts like my car!

I didn't flush the brake lines because I didn't know I should do such a thing. I guess I'll do that when I replace my tires.

Anyways, Helpful writeup, thank you.
