Well ive tried searching for this but cut and out are three letters and valve is in every other thread lol so does anyone have one of these? i thought this would be a good idea since our cars already have a free flowing exhaust why not just slap this on instead of getting a whole catback.. what are your ?

 

because the modern engine requires a specific amount of back pressure from the exhaust- and unless you can run onboard software to remap the fuel computer when you go to a wide open cutout,,,
those are what you find on drag racer `32 ford Coupes, that are street driven with the exhaust fully working, then open a side cap and it goes out there- as long as still meets track volume levels- they are carb driven engines- easy to swap out jets for change in pipes

Or found on old country roads cruisers of the 40s - 50s with a cable activated exhaust cut out, open wide for rum-running speed, quiet in town when the sherriff is near

 

Advanced search techniques:
Search for EGR*

The search engine won't allow you to search for three (3) character strings, but will let you wildcard for them (i.e. RSX* NSX* etc).




You can use google specifically on this site alone (cl.acurazine.com):

Just put in "DC3328 site:tl.acurazine.com" (without the double quotes) in google to find all the occurances of DC3328 on tl.acurazine...

Or 01tl4tl could put in "EGR site:cl.acurazine.com" to get all the occurances of EGR...

You can exclude specific keywords too using google. Just kick on the "advanced search" button on the google from page after running "keyword site:xxx.com" search... or "egr -purge site:cl.acurazine.com" to see all the threads with egr but skipping all the ones that mention purge.








Oh any what would you do with these cut outs? Just have them dump under the car unmuffled?

yea pretty much lol ive seen videos of it on v8's, im just curious how it would sound on our car and as for back pressure, you could only open it up halfway and put it after the cat? im more interested in being able to control the sound really

Just go to ebay and search for 2.5 QTP. Yeah but first ask ur installer or some muffler guy will know about this stuff. Just say cut out vaule or open header. It as a switch that u have to wire them next to ur seat so everitime u want it open, punch the switch and there u go.

yeah , ok you know there is a pipe that run straight down from the engine and next to it is the curve right , so before that there is no filter right, and just seld it in so that the air can flow wildly and sound better then those civic exahusts. My thing sound like those corvert or cameral , sounds so great man , im love it , i bet u get that thing u gone love it.

 

dam i wish when i was installin it , i have take some pics or vids, dam cuz it hard for you guys to see i know. Yeah it before cat, if you doing this type of mod , i think u should weld it in before any exhaust filter( lol don no wat to call) , look up there is the pipe run straight down from the engine right and next is the curve, weld it in right there so that the sound comes out gone be ur engine sound. I rather like it loud by my engine, i dont like those civic exhausts jus loudi azz but cant do none. Hahah no offense. If you do it right, it gains up for you several horses and lol its gone be faster. Trust me.
But warning lol , if you do it, the gas milage will goes down. For example. i used to got 18 mile per gallon with all the mods right, since i got that open header lol it goes down to 15 hhehe. Just dont open it often. Only when races or show off for them girls lol.

I said to dump it somewhere else( OTHER) than there. I would put a pipe on it and move it back further so that its not dumping right under the cabin. Run pipe back further. Not to mention to help get rid of exhaust gases near the cabin. Its not about changing the sound.

Dude i have heard the sound. Oh please. Ive played with my exhaust more than you could ever dream of. Adding some pipe to move it back further isnt going to change the sound if its straight pipe no mufflers. I didnt say to add mufflers, i said to move it out from UNDER the car where you are sitting to avoid fumes coming into the cabin.
