cracked and broken fog lights, hid installs
so i have one foglight lense smashed to pieces and one with a rock hole and and some discoloration. finally came up with a little money and decided to fix them. but i realized the housings are expensive and non of the junkyards had them. so i went on ebay and found these and ordered them, should be here anyday. has anyone used these?

also both my ballasts are done for, one is popping fuses and the other one will turn on for about 2 min and then turn off, so i decided to order an aftermarket kit. which will be here anyday now.
i will be posting pics of before and after and i hope this works out well.

Verry nice!
I fixed my fog light chip with hotmelt and weldbond2000 glue.
I plan on installing LED 9006 bulbs, and possibly coat them in silicone to prevent water damage.
I would like to do a HID kit but im worried that i will need to replace the lens first.
Where I live I get almost the most rainfall in North America so if there's a problem, it will become apparent quick.

Interesting that you painted the inside of the light housing blue. It looks neat when it's daylight, but you completely f*cked their usefulness and purpose.
Also, did you paint the entire door frame or just the pillars?

as far as the lighting issue is concerned from the fogs, im not really to worried about it due to the fact that san diego doesnt get to much fog. i know thats not all they are used for though. luckily i have a 6k hid kit on order for my normal headlights which should be here today and im putting a 10k hid kit that was given to me inside of the fogs, so should come out pretty well

Painted the reflector part of the housing but,Why ?
You do realize the time you put into them is going to be a waste when the hid are installed.
The paint is going to flake off, then back to the drawing board.
This does not even looked preped right.
The paint already looks bad in this pic.
I hope it's just the picture and it's the reflection from the ground.

no your right. The paint looks real bad in the pics, it was mostly the clear coat that mad it look so bad but it did come out well, not only that I did sand down the housing before paint, also I used hi-temp engine enamel spray cans for both the paint as well as the clear.

No I know you were not trying to be an ass. I know it's a big difference bu I used to be a house painter. So I at least know about prep and the basics of paint. Both the same brand and what is recommeneded by the company as the primer, paint and as well the clear coat. I gave them extra amounts of time to dry and set between each coat,

looks ugly imo.. (no offense). you should've just left it as it was (chrome). you'll have the most output for them and it brings contrast to your front end. now your foglights blend in with the car.. so in essense.. they seem invisible.. just an outline of foglights

I like it, then again i did the same thing to mine. It's been a while now, I had HIDs in them and run the regular incan bulb daily, they still look good.
