cost effect performance mods?

I have an '02 3.2 S-type. It has 180k miles and runs great. I have alot of bills so my budget for this is small but I want to know what would give me the best bang for my buck. I can start with a budget of a few hundred. I am assuming intake/exhaust but any suggestions would be appreciated. I am fairly capable of doing my own work so i just need to know what to get and where to get it from.

Intake-5-10 hp ~150$-250$
Headers ~20+hp you can get dc sport headers ~300$-400$
Exhaust almost no gains mostly sound priceanywhere from 280$ for axle back mufflers to 1000$ for atlp catback. you can also do custom exhaust- price will vary
Lightweight crank pulley- ~5-10 hp ~30$-200$

So to answer your questions headers are the best bang for your buck

Yes direct bolt up. The only cel you may get is the O2 sensor may go bad during installation but that's a cheap easy fix that I rarely see happen.

Be gentle with the o2 sensor and it will be ok. Twist it up a few times so that it unwinds as you screw it in and ends up untwisted when you're done.

Yeah mine kept throwing a code every once in awhile before installing my headers. I was nt surprised when I found out it went bad.

Get the headers for sure. Best improvement out of all our bolt on mods and still affordable.

I agree. Intake, headers, pulley.

I have been looking at headers I do have two questions. Is there any power gain difference from using two different brands? OBX vs DC etc? And will aftermarket headers bolt up to the stock exhaust

Also are you positive an under drive pulley adds HP? It should technically just help the motor rev more freely due to less weight so it shouldn't ADD power but reduce power loss from the motor

The DC headers bolt up perfectly to the rest of the stock exhaust. I'd highly recommend them. The pulleys=you broke down yourself already. Reducing power loss is= adding hp. You can feel a difference.

The gains are going to be similar but the quality is not. DC Sports is much higher quality than OBX.

Yes the lightweight crank pulley will free up hp.
