They don't sound like stock at all. They sound MUCH better! It's a low aggressive sounding tone. It doesn't sound like a fart can muffler on a Civic. At idle you hear a low rumble and when you accelerate, you hear a throaty aggressive tone. It's the best exhaust for the TL IMO. Do a search on youtube for Acura TL comptech for some examples. It'll give you an idea but it's best if you hear it in person, the videos don't seem to do the Comptechs justice.

How does it compare to Apexi ws2 ?. I had that on my TLS before and i think it's to loud when cruising 55-65mph.

Comptech isnt loud at all. Just a nice subtle tone, outside it sounds great (i had to remove resonators to make it louder)

thats the nice thing about the comptech. If you plan on taking a long drive you can put the inserts in. It takes about 30 seconds to put them both in and it cuts the sound in half

At first I wasn't sure what to expect...seemed quieter than I thought it would...

Then after a couple of days they really warmed up and seemed to change a bit in tone.

Seriously though...great sound...especially when you putt through town after getting off a spirited freeway drive.

I doubt you will need the tips with the comptech. Its not loud. Especially if you use the stock piping with resonators

what about the comptech catbacks? are those about the same in tone as the axlebacks? hmm also will the catbacks fit on a tl-p? im under the impression that its a different piping, but that might not be a problem for the catback. reason I ask is because im looking forward to getting a comptech catback for my tl-p from a tl-s... hopefully it fits...!!!

now let me find a video...

can't you utilize the search button more?? you've been here longer than i have...

TL-p or -S headers.. with ONLY type-S cat to make it work with the full comptech b-pipe and axleback. UNLESS..

you get the comptech b-pipe and drill out the extra space for the holes to bolt up to the base cat.

thanks for you help again, jaasha. i really appreciate it.

actually, if there was a counter of the number of times i utilized the search button on this topic and that number was given, you wouldnt have asked if i can use that option even more.

i really appreciate the help, i never post a question without searching for answers myself first.

thanks anyway!

i didnt think you had a tl-p. ya it is a bummber, no s!

from what i've gathered and what you've told me, im probably going to get the type s cat, put it on the tl-p header and drop on catback. easier than trying to drill holes and getting a b-pipe.

yay!
