Cleaning used heades

what is the best way to polish and clean stainless steel headers. the comptech ones. jus purchased a set and want to clean them up b4 puttin them on

Windex. If you're referring to the blackish/blueish discoloration, that is from heat, not dirt or stains. The steel itself has changed color, so nothing you can do about it. At least I don't think so. Let the flaming begin.

Cant get rid of that colour.
Think about motorcycle exhausts...

For carbon,
Mothers makes a stainless steel/exhaust polish.
I don't think it would be wise to get rid of soot/carbon with steel wool pads...

just put it on... nobody is gonna really see it... just keep that front header manifold clean if you wanna show it off... haha

thats what i wanna do. im thinkin about sand blasting the flange and use some kinda fluid on the piping

You cant really do any thing to the outside. About the best thing you can do is take something like Eagle One never dull to them. As for the soot inside why bother, the min you put them on your car they will get it again, thats the exhaust.

Install them and keep your fingers crossed for no leaks, and little resonance, that's the best you can do. Windex will not help a damn thing, when it comes to exhausts
