Now i know its BS because, Yes a cel would come on for something wrong with the exhaust. Especially when it comes to the CAT which is monitored by the ecu, and 2ndly you WOULD NOT get a CEL for warped rotors

Because its in the programing of the ecu. It will often times come on together

You obviously havent been reading, because he hollowed out his cat, which means you dont just bolt it back on. 2, people have been doing it for years, mostly on turbos for race. Or by buying emulators. with out doing so you do run the risk of damage due to the sensors not reading correctly and causing different conditions for the motor that arent right.

And all this for why? Others have tried and dynoed and not seen any gains in the past. About the best scenereo for gains would be if your original had high miles and was shot or plugging up.

I dont want to sound like a ASS but use your head man. ITs a simple process of taking a piece of straigt pipe and putting it inplace of the cat (which is illegal in all 50 states)

Because it is. Magazines and others have done tests and cats dont restrict much at all. On higher HP motors especially turbos it would make a difference, but on a stock TL there is no way in the world he would make enough hp to beat (sorry "walk") a CL-S, let alone feel the difference

Loss 10 pounds to gain your 5 horses. Keep your cat on and save the planet! You're young still, you're going to have to breath it!

And no, I'm not a tree hugger. But I am a parent, and would like to see my boy able to play with his big boy toys someday.

Yep pretty much the same thing. 1 is getting rid of the internals (rendering the cat usless) but freeing up some flow, and the other is removing it all together with a straight pipe. Its all good

For your info i have tried it, while i dont have dynos, i felt noting. It sounded louder because of the increased noise (no resonators, and comptech mufflers) it wasnt faster, and i had a cel light on because the rear o2 wasnt connected to any thing

Exactly. Stick with a high flow cat, one that actually is doing something and not a straight pipe
