cai vs sri?
cai vs sri?
hey guys, just wondering which intake is better, sri or cai? I know for cai people say its bad in weather just incase water gets sucked up it will damage our engine!? And for sri its safer but doesnt look as nice under the hood? im pretty sure that there isnt really and HP difference. So if i could please get some help on which one to get a SRI or CAI
thanks guys much appreciated

cai is of course better because it sucks up cold air from the bottom of the car. sri sucks up hot air from the engine bay.
as for cai and bad weather.. you won't have to worry about that problem if you have prefilters or if you guys have done the bypass mod. and even then, some people drive their cars in the rain even without prefilters/bypass mod and it's fine. just make sure you don't submerge your car in big puddles or else that's gonna be a problem.
cold air = more power
so a cai produces more than a sri hp wise. you won't be able to really feel the difference cause it's just about an 8-12hp increase.. people would get sri only for the loud roar and they dont have to worry about rain.

piece your own intake together. thats what i did.
in the summer i extend the pipe and the filter is in the bumper because colder air is needed.
in the winter i take off the extension so the filter is in the engine bay. its below freezing outside so there is plenty of cold air getting into the engine bay.

He posted in the wrong thread and reposted in the 3rd gen forum so he is most likely not coming back. But if he does come back, I would get a SRI if it rains a lot near where you live and for the ROAR. or a CAI if you don't get much rain and want to go for more performance.
Not always. Takeda sri for 3rd gen yields 14hp/14tq and the cai yielded 7hp/14tq. You also get better throttle response with sri due to the fact that theres is a delayed reaction when the erngine has to suck air through the long tube of cai.
