CAI install questions, need help FAST!!!!
I am installing my CAI right now and everything is on. I have two hoses one long(1 foot or so) and other shorter 6inches or so. The two coolant hoses that connected to the stock airbox are just sitting there and don't know what to do. Can someone guide me please?
P.S. vacuum lines are connected to the intake already.

you got to take the engine cover off in the front. there should be a coolent hose from the throttle body to the front of the engine. you have to remove the metal piping with 2 pipes attached fromt he engine. the hoses replace that. i just helped some one else with this search under my name in december i helped him out it had some pics and stuff

Not quite sure if it's the same for then 99 as it is for the 02. I just connected the hoses whichever way I felt was best. It's not going to matter which hose goes where because they are both going to the same place, they just come from someplace different. I am assuming one of them is the vaccuum hose though. If you're still not 100% you can go to cardomain.com (or someplace similar) and look at pics of 99 TL's that have CAI and see if you can tell how they have their hoses hooked up.

everything is connected and I took it for a 5min run and it sounds awesome! one problem is the mounting bracket doesn't line up with anything. it is resting underneath the horn. how can I secure the intake so it doesn't move?

does the mounting bracket face down? any pics? As you can tell this is the first CAI I have installed and the instructions might as well have not been ther because they were useless. also does filter face downward or forward?

The bracket does not line up with any holes, it is close but not close enough. right now the bracket is resting underneath where the horn is. Can someone show me a pic of the bracket mounted and where it is mounted or another way to secure the intake so it doesn't move? Thanks for all your help guys!

I think it is supposed to point down because that is only way the bracket will be parallel to the spot it needs to be mounted to. I think I just need to pull the intake away from the TB a little as it is just about flush with it now.

I checked out the BOMZ Racing website and didn't see any CAI's for a TL. Are you using the one for the Accord? That may be why it doesn't match up perfectly. I am sure you can get it to work, you just may have to do a little modding to mount it.

well I jerry rigged it. I actually took off horn, took off metal piece underneath it, then placed mounting bracket under that and the metal piece on top of that, screwed it down really tight and put horn back where it was before. Actually doesn't look that bad and intake isn't wiggling around, only bottom piece moves a little, but I doubt anything can be done about that. also I disconnected battery for 10mins and took it for a run and it very loud, strong sucking sound. sounds very sporty. I felt a small power difference on the highway. in the high rpm's my car did pull a little harder. On the highway it also sounded like a bad-ass V8. overall not bad for 50.00 and if it breaks, who gives a shit. I will know if it does and change back to my stock airbox or get a new intake before any damage can be caused.

thanks for dealing with all my BS, I have never installed an intake before and basically had no instructions at all and installed it at night and the mounting bracket does not line up right so I had a lot of things going against me. I did manage to secure it though. I had to use a large metal clamp and secured the intake near where the mounting bracket was. Now it is firmly in place probably more so then if I were able to use the mounting bracket.

Does anyone know if i can use my stock hoses with my AEM intake? I just got it second-hand and it didnt come with hoses (or i overlooked them in the box ) If I can't use the stock hoses, can someone give me an idea of what i will need to buy at Home Depot to use for hoses?
thanks in advance
