Blue LED dash anyone??

Has anyone done their dash to be blue LED lights? I saw one guy had the climate control area blue and it looked nice, but I want to see if anyone did the whole dash including the radio buttons. Pics would be great, links would be awesome. thanks!

Does anyone know how many LED's you will need for this conversion? LEDautomotive.com lists them in packages that will add up to like $138 ...im not about to dish out that much on LED's lol...and doesnt list each bulb in kit, I emailed them and waiting on a response, however i doubt they want to help e get all the bulb numbers to help me along to shop elsewhere....so what I would like to know is that how many LED's are required and what sizes? and even a good link for each LED that will help save some of us some cash on this conversion ...I see old forums that tell you LED's for this and that...but none that get straight to the point of every bulb required for the entire conversion from speedometer, sunroof, reset, climate, fog, cruise as those can all be done without soldering as far as I can tell...radio is something i will worry about later, but would like to get to the bottom of this, have tried private messaging and some searches, but no luck ..and help would be much appreciated so that I can get to searching ( prices ) and ordering..thx!

Well they are all plug n play bulbs, however I am still hunting down each bulb...for the gauges it appears to be (5) 74 bulbs, ( two turn signals and the 3 gauges ) and the clock and the climate area ( except the AC display ) appears to be (5) + (1) the one for you get in white for the defroster that will power both rear and front cause blue wont work and the others are blue and are all Neo - Wedge Instrument Panel Bulbs are 10mm (3/8") diameter x 13mm (1/2") high" bulbs, however I have not located those bulbs.... so not sure what will fit, the AC display, sunroof, fogs, reset, cruise are all unaccounted for at this point..of course they sell a kit on LEDautomotive.com if you want to pay $140 lol..they dont list what kind of lights you are getting either

Yes, I am well aware of the Search function lol, I have been doing plenty of searching, most of the DIY and forums are related to back in 06 and 07 and are for soldering, very few if any list each bulb you need lol...or if they do, doesnt appear on the list with links to look, what im looking for is someone who knows what bulbs you need for each area, sunroof, cruise, reset, climate and if the same bulbs ( 74 ) for gauges, will work on sunroof, cruise, reset ect...most tell u about gauges for gauges ( 74 ) a wedge is indicated for the climate ( 10mm x 12mm ) BUT doesnt list the option for clock OR any of the other bulbs im looking for ...seems like this would be a popular mod, but most forums are outdated with soldering info, not with simple plug and play bulbs or listings of bulbs, so if anyone knwos what bulbs you need, plaese let us know...LEDautomotive responded to my emai, but as i thought did not indicate what bulbs are included

I would really appreciate if you could Flipster, That link you listed below this post, That is the best link I could find, but for the components outside the climate and gauges, it refers to needing to solder back then I guess, as well as he didnt know the bulb for the AC display, those are pretty much where I am at right now, looking to confirm the climate is the 10mm x 12mm as well as what bulb goes in the AC display, sunroof, reset and cruise? ...would really appreciate your help with this...thanks in advance!

Will do, also ordered the Axxess Metra ASWC OEM Steering Wheel Adapter along with the Metra Double Din kit along with this harness kit that I hope works, lot a talk about the bose amp causing problems with the factory wired speakers...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...ht_2741wt_1136

The cool thing about the JVC deck is that it has tons of color options, lists that you can really get thousands of options...but basically it has 30 colors off the bat and can switch the display to one color and the other surrounding buttons to another...which will mainly be blue, to match the LED light conversion...figured might as well take care of everything in one swoop...btw the deck is only $157 on ebay with shipping..with the added accessories ( steering, dash kit, wire harness ) just a little over $200...not bad at all

Did you guys have any issues with the sunroof buttons? What bulbs did you use? I used the kit from LEDautomotive.com, and only my right half of the button lights up. It's weird because both LEDs are working, and inserted into the left side.

Anyone else have this problem?

yup, I did. They probably gave you the ones that light up on top only. you need to buy the inverted LEDs that focus output to the 360 degrees sides instead of the top, this is why only one side is illuminated.

Thanks VoLLy! You're the only one with any input so far.

Where did you buy your LEDs, and which ones did you get? Do you have a link? I'm looking to get the best looking LEDs for my car, and price is no object. I thought these kits made specifically for our cars would be good, but i guess not. =[

From what I understand, the buttons use neo wedge syle bulbs. I can't really find too much info on the inverted LEDs.

What bulbs would you recommend I buy?

I looked around, and found some conclusions from the research.

The bulb type necessary to use is a T3 neo wedge bulb, which means it has an 8mm base. Those bulbs are too small for the inverter LED type, so I think I should use a shorter and brighter bulb.

VoLLy and InspireUA5, your buttons turned out great. Where did you buy your bulbs from?

Yea, I got mine from there too. The problem is that my sunroof button is only lighting up on the right side. Did you get the sunroof button from ledautomotive.com too?

I can't image the button is any different, as the design should be the same.

They corrected the issue. Instead of using SMD type, they used regular type with a little white out at the end. Worked like a charm

All done for free. Very reputable website.

Has anyone tried doing adjustable color LEDs? Theoretically you could take an Arduino and have the old dash lights go to in input on that which you code to turn on the LEDs (you can get from radioshack for 2$ ea.)

Quick Reply: Blue LED dash anyone??
