blacking out headlight problem

Hi guys

Im in the middle of clearing and blacking out my headlights and i was wondering if I can put the hid ballast in the oven with the headlight? I cant take it off because it the wire goes through the headlight assembly. i took all the bulbs out just left the ballast on the bottom. Can i do it like that or will the heat ruin the ballast?

take off everything if you're using the oven method.

I figured out how to get the wire out. I just took a screw driver and pushed the piece around it right out. The paint is currently drying. I cant wait to get them on my car

when i did mine i didn't remove the ballast.

I did a poor job of re-sealing the headlights and water leaked into the ballast. As a result I actually put the ballast into the oven to remove the moisture in it. And no problem for me so far (touch wood).

i kept my ballast on in the oven and after i put everything back together my one ballast died on me, so i custom wired up two after market HID kits replacing the OEM ones.

take it off to be safe and do an extra good job sealing it back up
