there are cold air intakes for the air filter, and different plenums, even someone doing heavily ported manifolds--all for sale

see the `Black Market` section,,on the page after you log in- go to the bottem for all the extra sections,,Sponsored Sales is vendors who support azine and Private Sales in used parts from other members

cheapest thing is remove the resonator intake box--thats free
and 50 bucks gets you a K&N filter to handle the airflow

here is the diy master list--tons of info there for you

Cheap and Best shouldn't be used in the same sentence imo.

Im sure you understand what Im trying to get across, that if anyone knows of an intake that is rather affordable in which produce's the best overall performance increase.. Or I could be mistaken.

If you are a tl-p the this would be your best and cheapest option.
Best:
One piece CAI tube
Best sounding filter I have ever heard, It gives a slight whistle between 1st and 2nd with moderate throttle, not full throttle.
It does not give that horrible v2 drone type sound at all at full throttle.
Cheapest:
189 shipped.

Cheapest and best solution.

But I would never pay 300 for an intake. I would just wait for one used in the blackmarket for like 150.

i would just take the resonator off and k/n, or make a custom one yourself. you can make one like P2R for $125-150...gl

Just a waste of space.
That's funny that it takes 30 to feel.
You feel underdrive pullys with no question.
They may free what 10 + or - a couple hp.

Where are you getting these 30 hp #'s
You have been here a while but are responding like a noob.
So you can't feel headers ?
They are only what 20 at most.
They are no mods by themself that you could get 30hp besides charging/nitrous.
No one would continue to mod their cars if they could not feel mod by mod.since they would by one at a time and no mod makes 30hp they would actually never feel a gain.

Pretty lame response.

I do agree you wont feel 3hp but, that's it.

Making everyone a little more dumber today.

richard. please read the definition of the word "about"

i think 20hp is about in the same range as 30, is it not?
its def. closer than 3hp.

thank you, and please try again.

lol.... more HP ...more gasoline.. $4.39.9/g i wish i didnt hav a heavy foot.. it is getting more lenient tho..

honestly...intake i think is really for aesthetic purposes... you only here it when u gas it n hit vtec... if u dont gas it u wont here vtec... nnnnn i have a huge one that whistles allllll the time... but only sounds aggressive when i flr it.. but y... are engines are not helping us save gas...you flr it and BOOM..you just drop half a gallon of gas..lol..

if you are worried about hp... get the supercharger homies....

^LOL, dude you gotta take it easy. NO ONE is hating on you. Just a bunch of jokers. You don't have to defend yourself or your age.

We know the TL is an awesome car. This is a TL forum, after all. If someone makes jokes, just eat it. No one here will actually attack you personally.

Only intake I'd bother putting on my car is the one on it right now, but I sure as hell didn't buy it new. Next should be headers. Should be the first performance mod.

remove the age from your ID if you dont want it to be an issue

expect some hassle for a `noob driver` wanting more power, before they ever learn to drive properly
to me that means a series of track day trainings,,, to start
with advanced driver training on track as your skills progress

A stock TL has more than enough power to wrap itself around a tree
as it sits

Nerd: you get 1 choice--hp or mpg,,which do you want??
put a K&N air filter in the stock airbox and remove the intake resonator that goes to the bottem of the air filter box,,instant cheap cai

exception to training: if you are the current national go kart champion or other certified race driver organization,,you already know about track day fun!!

Yea I dont mind, I drive pretty well, I cruise up and down the hills by my house all the time, but more training would be good, and I am going to do the K&N swap.
