get an aftermarket 9006 kit for your fogs with a lifetime warranty on the ballasts. don't go any hotter than 6000K on the heads.

HID kits are pretty cheap in term of price nowadays. I remember buying my fogs 9006 6000K for $325 back in the day...2006. they haven't failed me yet, still running strong.

ok so i went to both sites to check them out... hidextra has kits for 59.99 for a complete kit but ddmtuning has kits for 25.00 but there are alot of add-ons available which if i chose all (im not sure if i do need them all) they will cost over 65-70 for the kit... what do u guys think i should do? what parts are needed to add on the ddm kit to work? and lastly on hidextra the last question asks if my car comes factory hid or halogen.. i may be asking the dumb one there but which would i choose... oh yea if it helps i drive a 03tl-s..

Best HID setup would include nothing higher than 4300-5k on the lows

Agreed with fsttyms1, 4.3k-5k for lows, and 3k for fogs.

If you're looking to maximize performance, go 4300K for the lows an 3000K for the fogs. I think anything above 4300K headlights is just colour, there isn't actually any added light.

DDM Tuing FTW.
I have their kit for my fogs...

And in terms of the best setup, I say 5k low beams and 3k fogs

"best hid setup" is subjective.

best output would be 4300K, which is stock for lows (you could add 4300k ballasts/bulbs to your fogs)

best looking is again subjective, but for me: 6000k ddm tuning lows to match the white leds and 3000k fogs, or 5000k lows if i kill the leds.

8000k and above is all show with really bad output.

5000k or 4300k lows and 3000k fogs is the only way to go.

Is there anything to gain from running a higher wattage bulb with the same temperature? Anybody know if you get an increase in output?

What's the stock TL bulb's wattage? 35w?

so im on ddmtuning.. and im looking at the Raptor kit then... it has alot of added options.. what should i choose, if any (for fogs right now)??? 3000k 35w w/9006 bulb type correct?? then what about the hid harness, error code eliminator and the adapter cables they offer do i need any of these 3 things or all of them or none???

in theory, yes.
but with more wattage comes more heat.

Thats exactly what you want (assuming you want 3k). For foglights, do not get 55 watt as the heat they throw out will melt the foglight housings.
You dont need any code eliminator or any additional harnesses.

No pain...Remove 2 screws in wheelwell(at very top rear of the front bumper, connects to fender), 2 bolts under the bumper on the front corners (one per side, i believe they are 10mm), and then pop off all the clips...Some are under the hood holding the wingpiece onto the grill, remove the clips on the top of the grill, and remove the clips under the bumper...Then once all that is removed, just pull the bumper off, it might take a little bit of force, once off do not pull it off because you will need to remove the wiring for the foglights.

I mounted my ballasts to the frame of the car right behind the bumper cover using some of the grey double sided tape with the red peel off shit.

If you want/need to remove the fogs from the bumper, they are held on by one single bolt and one little clip that you need to pinch.

I just did mine today....the easier way of doing it is just remove the screw that holds the fog light assembly. Just one screw and you can get to it from the hole under the bumper....this way you dont have to mess with taking the whole bumper off...works wayyyyyyyyyy better....

For switching bulbs absolutely. But for mounting a ballast to the frame and wiring it up, I'm pretty sure its easier to just remove the bumper. But it certainly can be done without taking the bumper off.
