BBK Aftermarket TL ThrottleBody... Claims 5-8HP.

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...728266/c-10101

BBK Aftermarket TB.. claiming 5-8 hp gain "test proven".. And the 1999-2000 Tl fit in to that catagory too.. I'm not sure if the TB would work for the typs-S? Is it even better than the type-S TB? This one is Aluminum.. and measuring 62mm..

Thanks..

If I'm not mistaken, the Type-S TB is larger than 62mm.

I've got a type-s.. This is the first aftermarket TB I've seen for the TL... if it is the size of the type-s' TB or smaller I wouldn't be asking about this mod... I wasn't sure the size of the type-s TB.. If this TB (62mm) is larger than the type-s' Tb there might be possibilities of HP gain.. if it is the same size of the type-s' TB then there would be no point to the mod.

Considering the years they mention in this mod Iwould assume they tested it on the 1st gen TL not the 2ng gen, and definetly not the type-s. I was just curious if someone had A) tried this mod.. or B) is this a gainfrom the type-s TB.

They mention 1992 - 2000. 1999s and 2000s are 2nd gen.

Gee thanks... This car is my second 2nd gen TL, I know when the generations change.

The probability that they tested the part of the 1st gen TL and NOT the 2nd gen is high considering they grouped the two gens together. The engines are different from the 1st gen to the 2nd gen, why would someone group the two together?

However IF this mod showed gains on the 99Tl-P there is a good chance it would do the same for the 01-03TL-P aswelll.

And not knowing the size fo the type-s TB I wasn't sure if this BBK one was larger then the type-S stock TB, I would assume it is larger than the stock TL-P TB.

It's probably a misprint. Maybe it's supposed to be 92-98 TL.

I wouldn't bother especially if it says 92-00, that's BS IMO. If you already have the TL-S TB on your car, then you should be good to go. BTW don't believe the TL-S TB will give a gain at all without IM being matched, not sure if you did that or not.

You really need to port match the entire intake tract.

Intake
Throttle body
Intake manifold

Nope, still haven't done it. Still trying to get a TypeS intake manifold to fit but I'm not in mod mode right now. Spring is coming and it's getting to golf season.
