Is it possible to modify '03 Type-S so that when in sports mode it doesn't automatically shift into 2nd gear from first ? I love how it its in my '08 mdx it gives you a little more satisfaction of "sports" mode.

 

I don't think so it's controlled by the ecu.

Speaking of the computer can you get it tuned or a chip or anything like that? I know like the Jettas they have a chip that's like 600 dollars that really makes their turbo kick

NO. The ecu has NO way of being tuned. The prom acura used can not be rewritten. There is NO way to replace it with a different one either. Your ONLY solution is a full standalone.

 

or you can just manually shit your car all the way down from 1st slide it to 2 then up to D3 haha.. but trust me im sure a lot of us wish that we could downshift to first in tiptronic mode

 

If you're in SS mode and you're rolling from first gear, RIGHT when it switches to 2nd gear, WOT the gas pedal and itll shift back down to first and you'll feel the tq. Trust me on this one LOL, done it a couple times when im bored and its late out.

 

Yes but response is slower then if it was already in first gear hehe

 

might be of a FRACTION of a second slower but it still kicks hard :p

 

lol tony sounds like be used ss before and in this fourm is a no no hahaha unless ya got indestructable transmission you lucky... but most of us aint really wanting to test it kinda but not really

 

Then just press Gas about 1/2 to 3/4 and it will stay in First Longer before Shifting into 2nd about 1000-1500RPM More.

If you WOT it will shift before Redline which is too much IMO.

No need to Quickly Downshitf, You can Hold 1st longer with GAS Pedal Feeling.


I use SS 24/7 in City so I know my stuff around it...
And yes I already have an AV6 Trans as Spare .
