i've used them. excellent pads. not alot of dust. good bite. decently priced. good for aggressive braking.

*but*....if you have the extra money step up to the hawk ceramics, i can vouch that they are much better.

having different pads on the front and back won't cause any issues. i haven't touched my rear pads/rotors since i bought the car 2 years ago, and i bet the previous owner didn't either. the rears wear so slowly it's not always worth the money to just change em out.

enjoy!

Akebono is coming out a Street Performance Ceramic pad, I would wait for that but ProAct Premium is a good pad.

Different pads with different friction coeficient will offset the brake balance.
StopTech has a white paper on importance of a balanced brake

A direct quote
The following table summarizes how common modifications will swing bias all over the map.

Factors that will increase front bias Factors that will increase rear bias
Increased front rotor diameter Increased rear rotor diameter
Increased front brake pad coefficient of friction Increased rear brake pad coefficient of friction
Increased front caliper piston diameter(s) Increased rear caliper piston diameter(s)
Decreased rear rotor diameter Decreased front rotor diameter
Decreased rear brake pad coefficient of friction Decreased front brake pad coefficient of friction
Decreased rear caliper piston diameter(s) Decreased front caliper piston diameter(s)
Lower center of gravity Higher center of gravity
More weight on rear axle Less weight on rear axle
Less weight on front axle More weight on front axle
Less sticky tires (lower deceleration limit) More sticky tires (higher deceleration limit)

hmm, guess i was wrong about the different pads. sorry for misleading you. although i can tell you i have stock pads in back and hawks in front and i love the way the car stops.

As long as they are similar and you arent out aggressivly driving it or racing it you wont notice a difference. Now if you had a pad like teh EBC red or black on the front and a really cheap oem replacement on the rear or vice versa there would be different brake bias. You will be fine

Akebono ProAct Premium's friction coefficient is similiar to stock pad, mixing the two is OK.
As long as you are not over upgrading the front w/o doing anything in the rear. For example, put race pad for the front, upgrade to BBK, remove weight from rear, and lower your car to make it overly front biased.
