Aem V2 or Comptech Ice Box?
does the icebox use its own filter or just a stock one that would just receive a colder air?
-Can I only use the comptech filter in the icebox?
-Is the comptech (filter) itself "good" to stock filtration standards (keeping dirt etc. OUT)

Icebox has a foam cone filter, not a panel filter.
K&N makes a filter that fits the Icebox. A lot of members have used it. I have the part number, but can't find it right now.
Don't know how "good" it is, but mine is pretty dirty. OEM paper filters might be better at filtration, but not the air flow.

u have to remove the resonator. u have to remove the when air intake. it replaces everything after the vsa (type s) and tb on the tl-p. its not gonna make it louder. and foam filter is better at filtration and air flow than anything out their.
-Icebox is $290 shipped..
-AEM V2 $308 shipped..
-Now it is only an $18 difference which makes it even harder.
Last question.. if I have the V2 will I risk hydrolocking MY 00' TL or does the filters position keep it up and DRY??
- I was really looking forward to all three..SOUND,HP, AND MPG.
-If the V2 risks the hydrolocking then I will simply have to sacrifice the sound and get the icebox.
Thanks

Agreed ^^. You might wanna also consider doing a short ram intake, if you want more growl. I originally started with a CAI, then eventually went to an SRI. Personally, I noticed the same, if not more response from the SRI, and a significant increase in "engine growl" under acceleration and WOT. And its also virtually impossible to hydrolock an SRI compared to a CAI, if that's something else you're concerned about. But like Rajca said, you kinda hafta be really stupid to hydrolock a CAI equipped TL too, i.e. going out looking for flooded areas to drive thru or something.
black market. doesnt come often. i sold mine for the s for $150 a year ago. seem them for 150-200 on the black market. just keep ur eyes open. and making a WTB thread will help

AEM V2 will be louder and more aggressive; CT is more reserved and subtle. Both should give similar gains. The AEM V2 might have a slight hp advantage.
If you need either one let us know. We have them on sale on the website.
