76mm TB

Ughh! I need help..I have the 3.7 sh awd IM and now I just got the BLOX 76mm TB. I am waiting for P2R to make me the adapter plate for a direct bolt on the IM. I put it on last night knowing that it wont line up 100% without the adapter plate, but I did it so I could calibrate the TPS and also run it. I calibrated it to the same voltage as the stock TB as it stated in the instructions. ( 0.495 volts closed / 5 volts WOT ) What I need is a DIY on this installation. There's no spot for the IAC valve on the new TB. It only has a spot for the TPS and MAP sensor. How can it run right without an IAC? Ive searched the internet and I cant find any info on doing this right. But eventually I ran it and sometimes at WOT at around 5k it would cut off. Also it was idling a little high ( 1500 rpms ) and under a light load it was surging and popping out the exhaust. And every time I would shift to a different gear the exhaust would slightly backfire making a popping noise. But man did the car feel alive when you floor it and it went through the rpm band.

I would like to know the answers as well I have looked into this and have read reports of surging in lower RPMs with part throttle. The IAC not being connected could explain the fast idle.

I talked to P2R today and they explained some important steps that I forgot to do. The cable bracket that I ordered for the 76mm TB from P2R came with a machined block with 3 holes that I had no idea what it was for. Well coming to find out you take the IAC valve off from the old TB and screw it on this block. Then you get hose fittings that screw into those 3 holes but you only need 2 fittings because the 3rd one is for coolant which no one uses that on the TB anymore. So you run one hose before the TB butterfly valve which theres a fitting for it on top of the BLOX TB and the other hose you run after the TB butterfly valve which is on top of the IM right next to the TB. And that solves the IAC issue. No wonder why my car ran like crap because I never had the IAC hooked up! I will post pics of each step once I get the adapter plate from P2R. I am confident that all this will work great once installed correctly.

Did you buy 76mm from P2R? If you did they throw in machined block an bracket piece for free? B/c It show on P2R website that cost extra.

http://www.powerrevracing.com/product-p/p362.htm

I just hated spend another $90 for then 2 piece. Please take some pic of 3 hole block an installment an how you hookup everything
This when be next mods

Did you ask P2R about there spacer not lining up perfectly with 09 IM an Blox 76 MM? Did they redesign it?

I got the BLOX TB from Ebay, the throttle cable bracket and block from P2R and they are making a TB adapter to fit the 3.7 IM perfectly. In fact, I think i'll be the first one to try it because they haven't finished them yet. They said they will have it done and shipped to my house probably by the end of this week.

I dont think its new, i think its the same adapter others have had a hard time getting to seal properly nor did it line up the TB and I'm opening properly. If it is new, im looking forward to seeing what they make for an adapter.
Here is the p2r adapter with a blox 74mm

Oh and, i have a few extra tb adapters that i made laying around and can make more.

Im currently working on a (easy/quick) solution so that you can keep cruise control with the Blox tb.

That 74mm TB just became a 60mm with that p2r adapter...lol When i spoke with p2r they told me that its a NEW redesigned adapter for that TB to fit the 3.7 IM. Im going to have a lot of old parts for sale that are useless to me now...

The P2R adapter for 3.7 manifold to 2gen TB is shit. If they're making a new one I want mine swapped for that one because I'm feeling ripped off. I'm looking at making my own.

I dont know how it can be any better. The Blox tb has the exact same bolt pattern as the 2g tb. The only way they can get it to align properly is to offset it (like in the pic i posted above)

Mine has a visible gap in it. It doesn't line up well at all.

I had the same problem with mine.

That is the best way to do it, it's not even with it to spend the money on the p2r adapter. Plus you can always go to a larger throttle body.
