Use the search feature, there are many detailed threads on it with specific parts and part numbers needed.

Hmm I'd like to know what other options are out there for conversions where you can still keep the car automatic and not have to worry about these darned tranny issues... hopefully with the least amount of work necessary. Would this be such a conversion?

Just curious to know what the alternative possibilities are in case I ever have tranny issues

Use the search. The 3.5 conversions are and have been talked about many times.

JCharged has dont the conversion. ask him what parts he needed. you could use the mdx block and the RL pistons and rings to increase the compression ratio giving you a bit more power.

I know, but out of all the various conversions people have tried, is the 3.5 the best one to go with if you want to keep it automatic?

Yeah... I'm not big on converting to manual. I'd love a more powerful engine and a more reliable tranny... but still would like to keep auto if possible

... of course this is all hypothetical in my case... just askin' questions

Its the only motor conversion.. Trans has nothing to do with it.

I learned something new

So... just for the heck of it... what options are there for tranny conversions that can still keep it automatic?

I dont believe there are any. You may be able to use the auto from the 3rd gen since we can use their 6 spd manual but I doubt it.

None. You have the stock trans and the 6 speed swap.

or you can pay big bucks for an auto rebuild via Dr.Evil or IPT.

It may fail again...
