2nd Gear Wheel Spin?

In 1st gear, my TL-S will break loose very easily. A couple of times it has spun the tires after shifting to 2nd. All other times it feels like its going too, but then it shifts and carries on.

I'm just wondering if everyone else's does the same... And who's TL does it every time. Obviously state what car you have and mods if any...

Also, I guess tires play a role. I'm on pretty worn All-Seasons.

I can usually get 2nd to spin a little, or enough to slip and keep it in VTEC range from 1st to 2nd.

I have Injen CAI and Apexi catback

it really depends if i hit it hard all the way through 1st, if I do, then yea i can spin almost all the way thru 2nd too. I havent done it since I got these new tires because they cost so much. BFG G forces. I have intake, headers, exhaust, no cat, pulley, and spacers

My TL-S never spins the wheels shifting into second, except when it's wet outside. Mods in sig.

Chirped tires going into 2nd before- bone stock '02 TL-S, nearly new tires, dry pavement. Shouldn't the TCS prevent it?

turn the tcs off

wait until it rains

and have fun burning up your tires and tranny
if your good you can get 3rd gear to spin nicely, but spinning the wheels around in wet weather does not count and its really stupid.

my friend go his VW spinning up to 130mph on a patch of ice, all we needed was a big rope and a tree.

Ive had wheel spin in second, but it has only been when I have the wheels turned ie: turning into a highway on ramp or coming off one. Good tires (Michelin), 80% tread. Bone stock '03 TL-S.

If I take VSA off and gate shift I can chirp 2nd nicely. With VSA on it chirps slightly. In full auto mode only on occasion.

Normally, I try to be nice to my F1 rubber tho.

mine will chirp (and sometimes spin) in 2nd but i've never tried 3rd. i try to treat my car with some love as i want it to last another 100K miles so i usually back off before i accelerate that hard.

i have k&n (minus resonator), tb spacer, pulley, and exhaust (tips) that adds maybe another 4 or 5 whp.

If your using the SS to shift, your supposed to shift around 6.2-5K right? After 6.5, doesn't torque drop off drastically?

buy nitto invos if you want dry traction. Why spin tires when you can launch? Having one front tire spin isn’t cool in any gear; buy a rear wheel drive car with a solid axle if you want spinning tires, and to actually look cool. sure anyone can break the tires loose but why would I wanna burn through $320 worth of rubber in persuit of being childish

. . road surfaces and temps play a big role.

for mine . . with all the latest mods . . when it gets cooler . . it will break the tires loose when punching it in 1st (20-30mph) and will get a really nice chirp under most conditions, but will spin them hitting 2nd when it's cooler/cold.
