2003 2.3 Acura TL Maintenance Req' Lights Flashing
Hi guys!
I am new here. I just bought my first car (2003 2.3 Acura TL)with 115k mileage from a dealer here in Inland Empire. They told me that the oil change is every 5k miles. But after 1k miles the Maintenance Req' Lights starts flashing. I checked my fluids and they're all in the maximum level. Can Anyone enlighten me with this car. Thanks!
And also, do you guys know where I could get a cheap owner's manual for this car or online that I could just download?
Thank you so much!

Register the car at Myacura.com. They will give you a free download of the owner's manual, along with some nifty information about maintenance. Also, your recall information and history will be available too. It's a good thing to do when you get your car.
The maintenance light is just a dummy light that comes on every 6k miles. It is supposed to remind you to change the oil, as our cars need oil changes every 7.5k miles under normal driving conditions (according to the owner's manual).
If it popped up after only 1k miles, then that means that the last oil change was done 5k miles ago. Or maybe someone changed the oil, and forgot to reset the light?
Either way, that light doesn't monitor the condition of the oil or anything. It's basically just a mileage counter. If you don't know when the last oil change was done, I would get your oil analyzed. Or just change it (probably cheaper). Getting your oil analyzed would also give you a good indication of the engine conditions.

see any of the other threads about mait light for reset instructions
simple
the mait light counts miles since last reset
approx 6500 it starts flashing at startup
7000 it flashes harder at startup to get your attention
7500 comes on solid and stays on while driving, until you reset it
pretty easy to tell if oil is new or has 5000 on it
