hi all, I was looking for some performance parts for my tl but i don't know much and I'm on a budget. I was hoping someone could lead me in a direction, should I start with a intake system? thanks in advance.

 

No.
The TL-S comes with a type of OEM CAI by Factory.
Also why you want more power? The TL-S is snappy as it is.


"ON A BUDGET" Doesn't go along with Performance Modifications.


Your first mod should and always be "Maintenance" if you keep your TL happy it will keep YOU happy.. If your car is running fine and all maintenance is keep up you might want to look into headers. Headers should be your first and most likely only needed Mod.

 

best bang for buck:

• bomz racing underdrive pulley $30
• test pipe $30
• dc headers $300 range
• AEM/Injen intake $200 range (best to look for used, or a no name brand for about $50)

If you don't live in Cali, I would just get a no name brand for an intake, and gold tape it.

 

What brand of test pipe do you recommend? The one on heeltoe or XLR8 is $140 plus shipping. Just an ebay test pipe?

Intake wise, you could go with AEM or Injen. Either would get the job done. Your factory intake is pretty efficient but you'll most likely gain a few extra hp from a true cold air.
