Upon doing reading I'd just like some clarification...

Since I have a 00' TL, in order for a 02-03 TL steering wheel to work (air bag function) I'd need to get the stage 1 air bag from an ap1 s2k?? Can anyone confirm this is correct?

I'm trying to swap my plain steering wheel for a wood grain one that's off of a 03 TL-s.

 

I had the 02-03 TL-S wood grain steering wheel in my 99. Airbag light was never an issue. Remove the old steering wheel and plug the new one in was all I did.

 

Swap the shit that deploys it from your 99 over. It's very easy to do. You'll see what I'm talking about once you remove the airbag itself.

 

When you buy the steering wheel just buy the wheel. Transfer your airbag to it.

Installed the new steering wheel. (02-03 TL Woodgrain)


Transferred by airbag into the new wheel..... buuuuuuut my horn doesn't work.


I noticed that the bracket behind on the new wheel makes a tighter fit on the airbag from my old wheel. I figured this might be the cause...

 

Found a steering wheel on the forum but not sure if it's been sold or not. If so, where is a good place to find one now that our cars are getting older?

Originally wanted an Inspire Steering Wheel but the H soon became less important and ideally wanted wood grain. If a Honda air bag and cover will fit I might later add it if I can find a wood wheel.
