Angry You know what grinds my gears... people

Short story on my weekend. I live in central Jersey and i found a set of type-s rims for a decent price and the guy stated they were flawless. He gave me some pics and I told him i was going to take the set if there were no problems with them. He clearly stated no. I make the drive to Baltimore MD, three hours one way. I meet up, put them in the car and i haul ass back to Jersey. Today I find out that one of the rims is dented and that even when they tried to balance it, it would still wobble out of wack.

I called the guy and told him, he tells me he did not know anything about this problem. So now i spent a good 6 hours of my precious Saturday driving to Baltimore to get bad rims. On top of that, the premium gas and tolls.

I called him and obviously he apologized and told me he will take em back. Now i have to deal with waiting to get my money back instead of rollin on gunmetal type-s wheels.

Hopefully i can get my money back and start looking for a new set ASAP.

if it's just one wheel that is bent, put it on the back...worst case you can get it fixed for 100 bucks...which is what you'll spend driving any AND you get to keep the wheels.

The guy was not a scumbag or else he would have ignored your calls afterward, no?!

Try putting it in the back. If he didnt know about the bend then it must have not effected his ride neither.

I was thinking about that, but i have heard that the rim might get worse after time and alloy wheels are not fixable. I am obviously not a mechanic but i bought the rims and expected them to be all good. The guy told me that it might be good and i might not feel anything at all but even then if i go on a highway it might be bad. Then another guy came around and literally said you are f**cked, get a new rim. And i kinda gave him the face.

But i do agree that he wasnt a complete ass and understood where i was coming from and agreed to take them back. IMO i want to keep the three that are good and just swap out the bad one since they are so difficult to find.

I think alloy wheels are definitely repairable. That's the route i'd go...

That would actually be very fair since he said they were perfect and they aren't. I think splitting the cost with you would be fair, only since we're taking into account that he could have been a douche about it.

Consider yourself lucky that he's willing to take them back & refund your $$.
Good luck w/ a repair. Did you check any salvage yards, blk. mkt., or ebay?

I am looking online for a replacement and found a site that seems legit, dunno ill post it. But the colors are confusing me. Hyper silver is regular silver and i am guessing hyper silver is their "charcoal"

This for some reason does not look legit.
