This is the most ridiculous statement anyone can make. Seriously, I've seen this so many times on this board. "You guys just own real nice Honda's!"

1.) Acura is a lot more than just a real nice Honda. If you have driven the Honda V-6 or the 4-Cylinder Cars, they are in fact a joke in comparison to the TL-S/CL-S

2.) If you do believe in you perpetuated lie about Honda's/Acura's just being the same cars and are just "REAL NICE" versions of their little brother. Then answer me this. Honda and Acura are two completely different entities. They are not Subsidiaries of each other nor are they really connected at all. But since my CL-S is just a real nice Honda doesn't that in fact mean that the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is just a real nice, I mean real nice (http://www.astonmartin.com/base.html) Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Coupe. I mean Ford does make Aston Martin and if you go to http://www.ford.com you can see it plan as day. I never knew that if a Focus ZX3, Jaguar X-Type (http://www.x-type.com/index.cgi) and a Volvo S80 pulled up next to each other on the street they would all just be, in your theory, just a real nice Ford ZX3. To you guys, who doubt Acura, obviously think that the Focus ZX3, Volvo S80, Jaguar X-Type, Lincoln LS and finally the Mazda 626 and Millennia are all the same vehicles and deserve the same credit as their other family counterparts. This is the dumbest argument I have ever heard in my entire life.

3.) I bet you the people that drive their Cadillac’s around wouldn’t be too happy to know this either. That fancy car that they think they have is just about as nice as the finest outhouse wallpaper (Saturn SC-1) this side of the Mississippi State Line. Cause a little known fact is General Motors does make Buick, Cadillac, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn and Vauxhall. 4.) In conclusion, the next time you are at a stop light in your Acura CL-S/TL-S sit back and relax and be soothed by the fact you just have a real nice, I mean real nice…. That’s right…. Honda Accord. And when you get to the next light look to your left and look at Great Grandma Maude in her Cadillac STS or that young business executive to your right in his Jaguar X-Type, make the motion to roll down the window and instead of asking for some Grey Poupon just let him/her know he or she is driving a real nice, I mean real nice Ford ZX3. (Insert your favorite CD and drive off in your Honda)

As far as knowing about cars, read what you just wrote, since the ES300 for a FACT only shares less than 25% of all parts with the Camry, and the TL shares 52% with the Accord, so how a list can be 10x longer but half the size is beyond me. Oh, and 1SICKLEX own a 1998 GS400 also, which if my very limited car knowledge serves me, is faster, roomier, handles better and is more luxurious, oh yeah..it was Import Car of the Year too, and looks nothing like any Toyota, now say that about your 2002 TLS. And thank God they don't pay you to do this, cuz' you would've been sh!tcanned months ago with your Jesus complex, "I don't like this post, I will delete this now" "bow before the alter that is Acura, or be cast away !!" You crack me up, it's just a board, you act like it's the Almighty Word. Notice how I present facts, I'm not on here flaming people, I mean, I have a GS430 yet you'd never have known it, because it's only a car to me, I don't boast about how fast, or whatever, and if I beat another car do I get to keep theirs ? Do their girlfriends become my property ? I hear nothing but kills here, and troops rallying around for a victory for planet TLS ("yeah,what was that POS thinkin', messing with our cars ?!") or the big conspiracy that cars costing $20k more aren't worth it, the TL/TLS is way better, yet people conveniently ignore the numerous posts building up about rattles, trannies, paint, clicking engines, but oh wait...alot more Bimmers and Lexus have them. Now you have Acura owners giving each other sh!t over validity of their stories (Austin), now that takes the cake. I know alot about cars, but less and less knowledge is becoming necessary here, now you just need a bad attitude and nitrous.

Platform sharing is common, PERIOD!! A4/Jetta has same platform, so are A6/Passat, so does that make Jetta a better car?? Or A4 a $hitter car??

I don't know what's your problem with Mr. Hyde, but so far I have seen alot of good posts from him.....

The only problem with your argument, TedC, is that over on ClubLexus I see the exact same mentality at work. People brag about what cars they've beaten in street races, smugly laugh at the silly masses who bought cars that cost less, and caustically (but jealously) gripe that people who bought BMW's or Benz's wasted their money when they could have had a Lexus for so much less.

 

Oh boy...Baked, like just about everyone here told you, why don't you just accept the fact that your TL/CL is another Honda. Man non one cares...only thing that should matter is that you like the freakin car.

 

get mad at each other. I know my car is just another honda, just like Lexus is another Toyota. It's all marketing. I think it's just fun to see everyones view. NOW NO YELLING.

I drive a Honda Inspire specially ordered with the steering wheel
on the left side and had them put an Acura badge on it just
because I liked the Acura "A" better than the Honda "H".

Well ClubLexus has some members that are similar to the ones here, agreed. Yes we make BMW and Benz jokes, but they are jokes, we respect the competition.

And yeah there is a races/stories forum and we post REAL WORLD experience, not magazine experience and we lose and win these races.

Not sure why Bakedwafer opened this up again (what 4 times) but he is hurt that no matter what he says he is driving a Honda bottom line, take the badges off and it's a Honda (there is nothing wrong with this). I am not sure what the problem is.

In experience though when I drove the ES often, I heard the Camry/Toyota Joke, I have NEVER heard this joke in the GS (or SC), just an observation.

In conclusion what the car is (Honda/Toyota/Ford/Lincoln etc.) means nothing. It is about how great the car is and how does it compare to the competition.

 

Because I am referring to his ES300, not the current one. Why dont you take your own advice and read the post again; this time open your eyes. You are presenting facts yes, but how are they relevant?????. The current ES300 shares less than 25% with the Camry not his older one; although even as a percentage which components are shared?? Two different lugnuts carry as much weight as the engine and frame in that kind of breakdown.

As far as what car you own and whether or not you post stories about your kills etc, ummm I dont go posting those kinds of posts either; whats your point???

Iceman dont bother, Ive been over to ClubLexus, and the same kind of thing goes on over there even SickLex sees it. Believe it or not, I have also seen posts about rattles, squeeks and problems there also. Is everyone there "conveniently ignoring" them???. I dont think so. Are you trying to make a point, becauseI dont see it?? If it so much better over there; why are you here at all??

Seems like you have more of a problem with the owners of the TL and TL-S than you do with the car itself, and that you have a problem differentiating between the two. I for one dont get mad at SickLex and say his car sux, or that his ES300 is a crappy car. I know its not, but I found his statement about the Accord/TL ironic when he owns an older gen ES300 himself.

Yeah the GS430 is a great car, I agree 100%, I love the car and you'll never find a post of mine saying otherwise. Comparing it to the TL-S makes as much sense as comparing the GS to an M5. For the price differential it had better be better.
