Yellow Fogs - Final Pics
OK....had to start a new thread since the last got closed because someone was a jackasz. Anyways....drove out to the canyon where it was dark and took these pics. Let me tell you this looks awesome. I couldnt have asked for it to turn out better. The only downfall is the yellow film on the outer 1/3 of each foglight. Hardly noticeable though. Just so happens that on the way home I was turning left at a stop sign and there was an IS in front of me. He had his window down and actually leaned out to look back at my car. Looks like I could of turned myself into a IS/GS magnet. Not always a bad thing.

maybe you should look into the fake blow off valves. They would probably go with your lights very nicely.
So explain why you wanted to ruin the output on a set of marginal fogs to basically nothing?
Hows that Soundspeed? Too harsh?
*edit* and you probably better invest in a razorblade or some new glass to fix it when that tint melts on.

I will let this go, but the first complaint I get and it is done.
(disregard the "edited by SoundSpeed" part on your post. I didn't edit your post, I just messed up when posting this)

You need some booty to vent your pent up frustation Neutered. Have you ever tried that to solve your problems? It may do the trick.
Go ahead with your insults, maybe they may be creative and entertaining....for a change.

Heres the link explaining how I did it. http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...hreadid=35739. They are PIAA ION YELLOW. Thats not what gives it the dramatic color though. Its the film. The Ions dont even look yellow when looking at them head on. Only on the ground. And even then its not that yellow. Drove around for about an hour tonight and there isnt a hint of the film getting too hot. I think itll be just fine.

Great Job man!! I too wanted that look. Although I wish there was a bulb that would do it rather than having to put that film on. I would do it if I knew for sure it could withstand the elements, ie snow and rain. I would definitely do it if it produced a pure yellow light. Based on the pics you posted it looks like the film is defracting the light somewhat and emitting some other colors. I wonder if you used a white bulb if that would help!
In any case, it looks really hot and you definitely have to give us an update and let us now how it holds up after a while!! :smokin:
<----- Just been upgraded to INSANE POSTER!! for me!!

I am using polargs. But I didnt like the blue reflective look during the day so I spray painted them silver with high temp paint. That was too thick so I acutally got some 500 grit sand paper and sanded the paint down a little thiner. Looks great during the day and is just about as bright as without having the paint on at night. I was looking at the fogs this morning and they actually look brighter fom head on now. It is a very bright yellow. Identical in color to the IS.

For some reason that green hue right in front of the car looks strangely... tasty... and I feel the urge to get a slurpee.
I think it's quite possible that if you used white lights you might get better "yellow" results. Right now I see all sorts of different colors on the road, the least of which is yellow However, from the front it looks great, I'm just not so sure about the illumination effect.

Alright, finally decided that i was going to get my a#$ to the model plane store to pick up some of that trasnparent yellow MONOKOTE. 12 bucks not that bad, well came back home and pulled the fog lamps out. started up the top stove burners on high, so i held the fog lamps over the burners about half a foot, enough to make my hand get a little hot, ok alot. allowed the fogs to get nice and warm then placed the monokote film on them and then squeezed all the bubbles out. let dry then installed the fogs back into the housing. Anyways, it looks so tight. im running the silvania silverstars, and the picks look just like sixspdbrd pics. people when i drive by at night slow down to see what kind of car im driving, they are so bright and make the hid look so much brighter. well thought i would share the mod with the forum. dont have any pics, need to get a digital cam. but it looks identical to sixspdbrd pix. mod is a definite :wow:

just an update for those who had questions on weather, etc. I have had mine in for 3 weeks now I think. It has rained a few times and Ive washed my car twice a week since then. Not a hint of the film coming off. I actually scrub the sh*t out of the housing to see if the film will come off, but it wont. It IS NOT too hot for the film either. Hasnt started melting at all. And the best thing is if something does go wrong, the roll of the film is 6 feet long and it only takes about 10 minutes to do. So this mod actually costs about $.74 with a lot of extra film left over for redos.

Are those the PIAA ION blubs? If so, walk away about 30-40 yards in front of the car, and you will see they don't look yellow from a distance. They look a nasty green/purple color. I took mine out when I saw that in my last car.
