Actually my fiancee (it's her car) told me she tried, but it won't reset (as of two days ago), and the alarm won't beep after the second remote click either. Figures... Oh well, I think it's just a fuse.

<searching...><searching...> Where is the deflated ballon emoticon?
I'll bet you're great fun on your parents' (or in-laws') birthdays: "Happy birthday. I can't believe you made it this far, but I'm sure you'll be dead soon."

Actually, since that service depends on mileage or time, we were slightly past due (I think it's seven years/105k miles). I changed the spark plugs about 20k ago, changed the drive belts about 5k ago, and then had the timing belt/water pump done last month.
(FWIW, I've done a 3x drain/fill of the ATF, multiple oil changes, pollen and air filter changes, and EGR port and gasket replacement, and TB cleaning, Seafoam through vac. port, reset ECU, and the tiniest throttle cable adjustment as well--those have just spanned the last 10 or 12 months and weren't done all at once.)

In all seriousness, are we facing inevitable transmission failure? We haven't had any problems with since we bought it lightly used in '04 with 8k miles. It has the second gear oil jet kit on it, and I plan to keep doing a drain and fill x3 of the ATF regularly. Oh, and I'm sending a sample of the used ATF to Blackstone Labs for analysis, the next time I change it.

you are doing fine with the annual atf change
next time- it will keep others from suggesting every service needed at 100-105
if you state what was already done
ck your remote battery for that problem

Well, I considered listing everything, but I tend to be long-winded. LOL. I don't mind that they suggested it, I was just lettin' folks know.
As for the batteries, they're fine. The alarm won't arm. It'll lock, but it won't arm. On Helms looking it up now.
