xs headers installed update! day 6

at first like i said there was no problem with the headers but now i am getting a buzz sound while driving when im holding a constant rpm's around 3000 and during hard acceleration. my friend heard it and said its either loose bolts or a leak in the gasket but they have to break in so wait a little longer to get it checked out. what do u guys think?

get back under the car, loosen the bolts realign everything then retighten every thing. Also double check that none of the heat shields are loose and that the hanger is sitting in the center of the mount and not torn out

i have that same sound on my '03 tls. i dont know what it is. theres no leaks. i just assume its aftermarket headers dumping into the stock exhaust.

I heard overtime the exhaust wrap might cause headers to crack with the excess heat.

It is true. It can cause it to crack around welds. Why not do the job right and if you have the problem have a muffler shop cut the flex joint out (which will alleviate any stress from miss alignment) and weld a Better joint in? all wrapping it is doing is putting a bandaid on a large wound. Its not getting rid of the problem, just hiding it

its most likely the design on the headers. they only cost 100$ so your not going to get the best quality sound from them. i have a k&n drop in filter with my resonator box taken out with xs headers and easily worked an '07 civic 4dr si. that guiny was pissed ha

mine are supposed to show up today....i am getting them installed by a muffler shop. he's been doing custom exhaust for years. might as well just pay a little extra for someone who "knows" what they are doing for install! then if i have same prob's i can blame him....

^^ Why pay someone 2-300 dollars when you could do it yourself and if you get the resonance put in the new flex pipe. I have some of the header wrap, but might just get a new flex pipe welded in place instead.
