XLR8 Motor Mount Issue

Hey guys, has anyone purchased the XLR8 motor mounts and had an issue with fitment? I went to install the side motor mount but no matter what I tried the holes just simply don't match up to the OEM ones.

Has anyone had similar issues? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Mine fit fine. Just start all the bolts a little bit then tighten them.

Try using a drift pin to help guide the bolts to line up. Ya may have to loosen up the other mounts a bit if it's binding. Try prying or lifting the motor to help position the holes.

Front and Rear fit just fine, no issues. I get what you mean by starting the bolts, but the bolt hole on the left is literally nowhere near the hole on the mount. No matter how I positioned the mount, the holes never even got close to lining up to where I could even put the bolt through

Are you talking about the mount bolting to the body of the car not lining up or the mount not lining up with the bracket on the motor? Can you post a pic of your issue

I will post a pic when I get the chance. I'm talking about the mount not lining up with the mounting holes on the body.

The red circles are the ones that don't line up with the body

Have ya tried pulling the long bolt from the mount bracket's top and then loosely attach the bottom of the mount to the body first ?
It may be easier to wrestle the top mount hole alignment by shifting the motor position a bit.

Yeah I tried mounting the bracket by itself, no engine bracket attached, and the holes simply didn't line up. I have figured out that the problem is the mount itself. I took dimensions of the holes on the OEM Mount and compared them to the XLR8 Mount and the XLR8 Mount is way off

Perhaps the XLR8 mount is the wrong part #, try checking with the vendor.

If there is room on the bracket, I would drill new holes and install that sucker. Otherwise get a replacement. Perhaps an error was made in production. It happens to the best of them.

When you install the mounts you should install one mount at at time. You should hand tighten all bolts and not tighten any mount or bolt down completely until all 3 mounts have been installed. Also you should support the motor with a jack when installing the mounts.

I was only working one mount at a time, as I was also putting my Ingalls ETD on along with the passenger mount. I will give it another go, and will take pictures this time. The holes really just didn't line up --- physically or even on paper with measurements!

Front and Rear Mounts are great though! I would recommend them to anyone! Vibration at idle is a little more, especially with the ETD, but once you touch the gas, vibrations are gone!

I had to have that exact hole drilled out a little more.

It's very easy to trace the holes of the old and new mounts on paper to show they don't line up.

Neejay, did that seem to solve your issue? I may just do that.

Yep, I was able to bolt it in just fine after that.
