I really like the cool blue look and I find the stock 4300k looks yellow if compare side to side with a 6000k and up bulb. Would anyone suggest a 8000k bulb??? That is what I am thinking of buying. I like it to look like the baby blue color but not too blue!!!
Yeh, but they'll shine less light. The primary purpose of me upgrading my stock HID's was that I could not see well with the stock. 8000k will give u less light. These 6000K HID's are a breath of fresh air for me and it safer for me to drive at nights now.
BTW...I hope thats u in that avator.

Hey, I decided to take some better pix of the HIDs. It is a great investment. These 6000K hid output 3000 lumens, which is almost as stock, they are bright, and sweet blueish white. The green you see is from my projection foglights.

Sup guys, i'm bringing this thread back up out of the dark. I've read a bunch of people talk about the Xentronic D2S/D2R bulbs and also the Philips Ultinon 6000K bulbs. The only primary difference i believe between these two bulbs are that the Philips has the anti-reflective strip around the bulbs to prevent glare? I'm not positive my description is correct.
I have a couple quick quesitons for people who have been posting in this thread or anyone who can answer them.
1.) Xentronic bulbs do not have the specific anti-reflective strip on their bulbs as most D2R housings are specifically designed for (like the 01-03 TL/TLS). Will these bulbs produce more glare or less light because they do not have this strip?
2.) Do we get discounted pricing on either Xentronic or Philips through a certain vendor/person?
3.) Have you guys been generally happy with the Xentronic bulbs? I'm leaning this way simply because they are cheaper by quite a bit.
4.) Are the headlight assemblys different between 99-03 TL's? I know some of you guys with the Xentronic bulbs have older housings as you have 99's.
Thanks much!

I'll answer what I can...
Yes, more glare will be produced.
The first set I got, one of the bulbs exploded. They were quickly replaced and I've had no trouble since.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Is there some glare? Yes. But not an amount that I find irritating. I had my gf drive my car behind me while I was in her car. You can tell they are not stock and they have some glare, but my safty driving at night, to me, is more important, then a bit of glare to others. That said, the glare is not BLINDING to the other drivers, but certainly noticable.
Hope this clears some thing up.
And MadCat, thanks again for the reccomendation.
Thanks,
Joe

Correct. There is some glare. But nothing that is annoying like those Add-ON HID kits that I have seen. My upgrade to these HID lights was for the same reason. Bad vision at night. Now I can see everything.
